Former NBA star Shaquille ONeal is under fire for mocking a disabled fans selfie.
The retired athlete posted a picture on Instagram of his own contorted face next to Jahmel Binions selfie.
FOX 2 reports the post, captioned Smile today, earned more than 14,000 likes, with former University of Michigan athlete Trey Burke and rapper Waka Flocka Flame joining in on the teasing.
The post has been deleted. But for Binion, the damage has been done.Modal Trigger In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Shaquille ONeal made fun of a disabled fans selfie.
With missing teeth and abnormal hair growth caused by the rare disorder ectodermal dysplasia, the Michigan man is used to getting bullied but Shaqs mockery was too much to bear.
He considered Shaq his basketball idol and respected the former high-profile athletes charitable works and advocacy for disadvantaged children in America.
Ive been getting teased since I was yay (sic) tall. People laugh at me, stare at me, Binion said. I was kind of hurt because Ive always looked up to him. Ive watched Shaq play basketball since I was (inaudible), so I was like, why are you making fun of me? He is supposed to be this role model.
Despite the abuse, Binion has a positive outlook. He said the cruel taunts have inspired him to start an anti-bullying campaign called Hug Dont Judge.

That is all you’ll ever hear of it. This will not be on TV 24/7. There is no outrage. No calls for resignation. No huge fines. No president condemning it.
All because the guy enjoys protection from birth - protective pigmentation.
Absent-minded foolishness... whatever...
So, will shaq be banned for a lifetime of going to any NBA games because he was obviously dicriminatory in his actions toward the disabled? I thought not.
Jahmel Binion has more integrity in his pinky than any of these pampered hypocrites who mock him.
His life has probably been a living hell in Detroit but he seems to take it all in stride and just moves on with his life.
Yes, but when do we stop saying, “But he hit me first!”
That never works out well.
The Chik fil a and the Duck Dynasty debacle was able to be played out right, they stuck to their guns and we stuck with them.
Screw Shaq we need to be out there defending Sterling’s right to say what he believes repugnant or not.
They’ve tried to make Bundy out to be a racist and then miraculously they get some conservative opinionator to support their side. I don’t care if Bundy is racist, he has a right to be if he wants and they are just trying to change the subject because the government is sooooo wrong on this.
He’s not claiming victim status. He’s not looking for revenge either.
Quite the opposite, actually.
