Colorado and Washington are the first states to legalize recreational marijuana. In my state of Colorado, Amendment 64 was passed by 55 percent of voters by ballot referendum last year and took effect on January 1 of this year. State government officials are giddy with the prospects of increased revenue from marijuana sales. Marijuana tourism is booming in Colorado, giving new meaning to Rocky Mountain High. Now, four months into this new experiment, it may be worth looking at some of the unintended consequences.

So have I. I remember as a kid, my favorite place to go was Four Corners where you can be in Colorado, Texas, Wyoming and Nebraska all at once.
Ummm,
Colorado Borders Texas? Where???
Oklahoma is just North Texas, don’cha know?
They only show up on threads about old ladies shot by “Drug Warriors”.
” Oklahoma is just North Texas, doncha know? “
LOL
“I heard that Texas state troopers are lined up at the border of CO crossing into TX to write tickets and whatever. MaryJane is not legal in TX.”
The hi-po’s in OK and KS are also pulling over the stoners and issuing citations and making arrests.
The easy way to tell who the offenders are? They are the ones driving 45 in a 75 speed zone with smoke billowing from the car windows.......
A picture says a thousand words....
Actually, Texas is referred to Oklahomans as “Baja Oklahoma”.
* This is the way it is supposed to work, yall. The article was a bunch of scaremongering. Let us see what kind of benefits result from the Free Market getting to work on the wonderful marijuana pharmacopia. There are some VERY interesting compounds in this particular plant.
* I know I benefit from it. I am a beat-up old hillbilly with a fair amount of chronic pain due to a wild and reckless life. A little smoke now and then is just the thing.
You just made that up.
Texas is the land of the Philistines.
Yeah, keep out them stupid stoners and their lousy skills in geography!
I agree we can put up with the collateral damage of death on the highway, suicides, drug induced mental damage, drug induced sloth. “WOW! Like Man!” (Sarcasm)
Meanwhile, doctors will prescribe legal acid trips in the form of drugs advertised on TV. Google ambien hallucinations.
Nope. I’m not that clever. I had a friend from OK that I heard that from. Cracked me up.
There is an old movie called “Baja Oklahoma”. It’s pretty good....
I agree that it’s clever. I just grew up in Ok and never heard it before. It’s much more clever than our counterparts’ “North Texas”.
An indication as to how powerfully addictive “Pot” is. I have noticed the druggies that appear on this forum will say anything in favor of this “harmless drug.” Truth does not matter it is unimpeded access to the drug that counts.
I did read the article. So are you saying people in Colorado are using pot less than before? I know you’ll say yes because that assertion is critical to the Libertarians’ argument.
No kidding. It’s like it’s “precious” to them.
