The NAACP said today they are still willing to work with Los Angeles Clippers' owner Donald Sterling despite yanking an offer of a lifetime achievement award over an audio tape containing racist comments that Sterling allegedly made.
At a news conference today, NAACP Los Angeles president Leon Jenkins said that an audio recording that surfaced this weekend on TMZ, which purportedly had Sterling's voice recorded making racist comments, was "devastating."
But the organization would be open to talking to Sterling, with whom they've worked for nearly 20 years.
"God teaches us to forgive, and the way I look at it, after a sustained period of proof to the African American community that those words don't reflect his heart, I think there's room for forgiveness. I wouldn't be a Christian if I said there wasn't," Jenkins said.
"We are negotiating with him about giving more moneys to African American students at UCLA, and so we are in preliminary discussions," Jenkins said. He also noted, however, they had not spoken since the scandal broke. . .

Why, that’s mighty white of them.
It's a myth started by the left that her words were 20 years ago. She was still spewing stuff until that day, and her black employees weren't allowed to use the employee restrooms.
Paula Deen's No.1 defender is Jesse Jackson.
LOL!
You rich.
Gebsmedat!
100% wrong. It's the rise of leftism. Using black people is just one aspect of that. They use other groups, when appropriate.
it WILL eventually lead to civil unrest and perhaps a race war
Do you really want to recycle the theories of Charles Manson?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The motherjones website says it has proof Sterling is a registered Republican.
NAACP is selling racial indulgences ...imitating the medieval Catholic church
You are wrong Nick.
Obama is a black nationalist. He attendeded the church of black nationalist Ralph Wright for over 20 yeras. His children were baptized there. The facts speak for themselves. Look at the refusal of Holder to apply various law to black folk, they are “white laws”. Now this has worked its way into contemporary culture. A black basketball player announces that the NBA is a “black league”....that means that 84% are black and 16% are not really important. What would happen to Wayne Gretsky if he proudly announced that the NHL was a “White League?”
This IS black nationalism, and it is polarizing the country, and is being used to deny people their constitutional rights. Sterling is a racist. There is no law against him being a rascist, he is free to be a rascist if that is his bent. Mind you I am not defending the content of his remarks, but he has the right to hold those views, and he also has a right of privacy that was illegally violated.
So I cannot join the black nationalist stampede against Sterling in ignorance of the destruction of his constitutional rights, in particular because his remarks were not directed to any black person or any black organization. They were addressed to his girlfriend in an argument about her social conduct.
Fiasco after fiasco has been designed to cow America under a pall of black nationalism, to chill political and private speech. Now the thought police have arrived. I do not care overmuch whether they are white or black, they all can just go eff themselves.
As to castigating me as Charles Manson, you must be desperate. Pointing out the facts of black nationalism , and the rise of liberal coercion through socialism , the rise of “Nationalist Socialism” is a truth America can no longer ignore. It has nothing in common with Charles Manson or the Tate murder. It has much in common with 1930s Europe, including a evolution toward hatred of the jews.

Doesn't Jackson want to 'forgive' too? I'll believe this IF they 'forgive' without taking any cash...
