Hes been controversial for decades. Clippers owner Donald Sterling now faces more trouble a nationwide firestorm over racist comments he allegedly made in a recorded conversation with his girlfriend.
Those alleged remarks by Sterling have caused uproar across the sports world. And perhaps the person most upset about the situation is Dodgers part owner and former Laker super star Magic Johnson himself who was mentioned, specifically, in the comments.
KCAL/CBS2 sports director Jim Hill sat down exclusively with Magic to discuss the remarks the Clippers owner allegedly made.
Im very disappointed, angry and upset, said Johnson. Lets go back when I first got here in 1979. Dr. Buss took me to my first real party at Donald Sterlings house in Malibu for his annual BBQ. Ever since then, since Dr. Buss introduced me to him at the time he bought the Clippers, weve been out, weve had lunch and even shared meals to talk about his team, so I thought we had a sort of a friendship, even though it may be a distant one.(continued)

The comments at the article are off the hook racist.
Guess Oprah was wrong about racism being over once all the old white people die off.
Seems like something has happened over the last 6 years to create a new generation of racists that makes the old ones look like Gandhi by comparison.
This whole thing is silly. He is a disgusting individual, but the hyperventilating over this and anything blacks or leftist whites think is white on black racism vs. real deaths and beat downs by blacks vs. whites, asians, and latins is such a huge overreach.
Sterling went on an anger filled rant after finding out his girlfriend was not only sleeping around, but bragging about it. He should have just dumped her instead of shooting off his mouth. It doesn’t excuse what he said, but the free market should deal with the situation. If people are truly more offended by him vs. enjoying the silly game of basketball or making money off him, then they will stop consuming the product he owns. It is a fearful day as the government starts controlling and taking over things based on thought.
Personally, I would never go on a racist rant, nor even think of using the “N” word, because I am a conservative and being a real conservative means not being a nasty pig like democrats.
Probably nothing. Because there is no black presidential candidate, at least a third of blacks will stay home in November. To ensure blacks vote, they need to keep them agitated until then.
You’ll notice, I am recalling correctly, the Zimmerman case hit the headlines at around the same time.
Magic says he will never go to a clippers game as long as sterling owns the team?? But that’s what the old racist WANTED. If I were magic I’d buy up a zillion seats and fill them all with African Americans, and be myself in the front row.
Obama and his using race to cover his leftist ant-American agenda has set race relations back 50 years.
That is a great point.
The left is pushing and herding their base. It is a horrible and evil thing for them to do, but that is what they are.
Doesn’t Magic have any Pro Obamacare ads to shove down our throats during NBA games
Hammer, meet nail...Magic has made a lot of money in business since his playing days ended, and he would love to acquire a team in the nation’s #2 media market—for a fire-sale price.
There has been talk of players boycotting their next game because of Sterling’s remarks. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit to learn that representatives of Mr. Johnson are urging some sort of “labor action.” Meanwhile, the NBA has a new commissioner who has been on the job less than two months, and is facing a literal trial-by-fire. He will be under tremendous pressure to “do something” (i.e., force Sterling out of the league) before the civil rights police descend on the NBA.
By various estimates, the Clippers are worth $500-$700 million. In a forced-sale scenario, the league could take control of the team, then sell it to a minority owner, at a greatly reduced price. Under those conditions, Earvin “Magic” Johnson would become the odds-on favorite to take control of the team.
Sterling has been a terrible owner, but there is the little issue of taking someone’s rightful property because of racist speech. Of course, the matter of private property has never stopped the P.C. police before, and it won’t this time, either.
Sign me sick and tired of the speech and thought police.
vaudine
Were I single I could find a better looking girlfriend/mistress on A Foreign Affair or even Plenty of Fish in ten minutes and I'm no billionaire. What gives?
Seems to me maybe Magic and that girlfriend of Sterling might be getting it on..Sterling seemed to be most upset about them both being together, nothing would surprise me at this point
Michael Jordan’s “run” is what turned me off.
I haven’t watched NBA since they turned it into a script in the mid-90s.
So there's that.
Huh? She’s a he/she? Seriously?
And the colored girls go, "doo do doo do dooo doo do do do doo do doo do dooo do do do doooooooooo."
... LOL .... I guess the racist Democrat Donald Sterling had ‘em all fooled pretty good if he was going to receive an NAACP award.
‘My condolences on having missed Micheal Jordans run to fame.’
Yeah, my life is diminished somehow.
Guess I’ll have to deal with in my grave.
Are all these black whiners concerned about only about ‘racism’ from whites? When they start eschewing ‘racism’ from blacks then maybe there is something to talk about otherwise all they are doing is flapping their lips.
I stopped watching after the Dominic, Byrd era.
