This has to do with him not wanting to be publicly humiliated. She’s his girlfriend, so he is diminished when she is seen with younger, studly pro athlete guys.

He doesn’t care if she wants to bed these guys. He only cares if it is public, which he sees as a personal humiliation.

She's not his wife, she's a "girlfriend". In actuality, some may call her a paid escort. In any event, he made a big mistake. He should have realized her lack of judgement was a liability, and cut her off immediately -- no warnings, no second chances, get her out of his life and get somebody else to be seen with him in public.
