Lock you dog away in a bathroom well out of sight before you call or entertain any cops.

Looking at the video the dog was in the bed of the truck. The dog failed to hold position. None of it would have happened if the dog had stayed where it was put.

I look at stories like this through the eyes of what would happen to a private citizen
if they reacted in the same way the law enforcement officer did.

There are just way too many instances of shooting of dogs and citizens because
the law enforcement officer claims they “felt threatened” in some way.

That “cell phone, toy gun, wii controller, walking cane, or whatever sure looked like a gun to me”.
Bullshit.

Why do cops shoot dogs?
Because they can.

That is true. However, dogs’ genes are set to investigate possible threats, bark furiously, and try to scare off intruders. So, unless the dog is extremely well trained, don’t take the risk of losing a canine friend.
