Cops shoot dogs. It’s what they do.

Dogs that Cops Killed
The furriest collateral damage in our wars on drugs, peace, and liberty

The dog was shot in the BACK of the head, indicating that she was fleeing. This coward LEO shot her as she was running away and then refused to put her out of her misery, leaving her loving owner to do the most horrible thing I could imagine to end her pain--choking her to death with his own hands. OMG.

Not only should this POS be fired, but he should be tossed into general population JAIL. And really, he should have the complete crap beaten out of him with a gauntlet of baseball bats. Finally, he should be made to purchase a new dog for the heartbroken owner AND to volunteer at a dog shelter for a looonnggg time.

"Dooley was fired for his own safety"

There seems to be more of that going around these days (same excuse for the BLM fold at the Bundy Ranch).

"Deputy Dooley retained me today to share his side

Oh yes, lawyering up is all about sharing. Warm fuzzies are breaking out all over. Deputy Dawgkiller is just a poor, misunderstood family man who was only doing his jahb.

How terrible is that? He had to end her suffering. For somewhat similar reasons (an injury, not a shooting) I also had to do this in May of 1979 for my own dog. I never forgot it.

I watched the dashcam video yesterday.

The deputy had plenty of time to get back in his car when he saw that the dog was becoming agitated.

All he needed to do is get back in his car and have the dispatcher call the homeowner to come and control his dog. No need to shoot the dog when he has shelter a few steps away.

Hey deacon, how is this justified when the dog was shot in the back of the head?

Hows that work?

OK, I’ll keep an open mind. Shot the dog in the back of the head, well that certainly explains it.

He got fired!

Nice to know Texans will not tolerate shooting a dog then letting it suffer, even under color of authoritah.

I so want to move to Texas!

The next time you need to euthanize your pet, just call the cops.

You can look at that dog, and tell it’s no threat. Here is a link, with supporting video/picture of the incident. You be the judge.

Dooley was obviously does not have the best judgement. That’s something critical if you are going to be a police officer. It comes across as trigger happy too.

The police did the right thing, by firing Dooley, because you can best bet a lawsuit is coming from the family. Believe me lawyers are licking their chops. This will be an easy case.

Dooley will probably facing a personal lawsuit too. This is why is layered up, and is hoping to get his job back. The best thing Dooley can do is leave the State and work some where else.

People love their dogs, and when you shoot a dog. That’s like a killing a small child. Dooley back on the force would not only be a public distraction, but it would be a black eye between the community and police.

I encounter cow dogs often on premises. They can be real aggressive and do bite. One in particular bit me hard on the calf of my leg from behind and I kicked the shoot out of him. The client got mad at me and is no longer a client. People with dogs like these also have a responsibility to keep them up when expecting someone with which the dog may become aggressive. The dog didn’t have to be running away from the Deputy to have the bullet in the back of the head. The Deputy could have been standing right over him as the dog was being aggressive.

This lawyer will probably argue that in the whole country, there has never been a police dog shooting that WAS NOT justified.

Has anyone ever heard of a dog shooting before this that was not justified by the cops?

Back in the day postman had to deal with dogs without shooting them. Even today water meter readers etc have to do same. Cops shoot them because they are armed and they can get away with it.

On the San Antonio news night before last, they showed the vid of the deputy, and cohorts on camera. It seemed they were laughing about the dog being shot.

Mr. Dooley needs to move far away from Texas. He is no longer welcome in Rains County .
