This is interesting. I read a little closer the statement made by Taylor Catchcart. “We felt that the possibility of offending even one member of the Dartmouth community was not worth the potential benefits of having the fundraiser.” Taylor Catchcart is also President of the Editorial Board at the Dartmouth Review, which is the “notorious” conservative newspaper at Dartmouth.

He employed the liberal orthodoxy of fear of offending anyone to cancel the event. But its a setup. He’s going out of his way to prove how absurd that particular part of the liberal mindset is.

Very nicely played. This should be fun to watch.

Thanks for your insightful take. Now that you point it out, it’s obvious. I didn’t notice he is an exec on the Dartmouth Review.

Meanwhile, he named the complainer (Daniela Hernandez), and everybody at Dartmouth who might have wanted to go to Phiesta will now blame her for the cancellation.

Thank you for looking into this. I wish FReepers would read each post before going off the deep end, and taking statements at face value. Hope to read some campus reaction —— on either side.
