Interfering with a surveillance radar is an overt hostile act. (As is painting an aircraft with a fire control - as opposed to tracking - waveform.) If they jam or spoof, we should be able to at least illuminate them with a fire control waveform. Your move, Ivan. (I knew guys who did Patriot testing at White Sands. Patriot has a P-sub-K against air breathing aircraft slightly higher than 1. For grins and giggles, they would illuminating an Air Force aircraft with a fire control waveform. AF. Did. Not. Like. That.)
I don’t think Vlad would’ve let this trick out of the goody bag until the balloon REALLY went up.
Cuz it smells like BS?
The article is such BS. . .not even high quality BS.
Sheesh. . .screens going ‘blank’ and flying over the deck. . riiiiight. . . .good Lord, who would fall for that crap.
Besides the insanity of the outrageous and false claims, why would anyone supposedly activate their wartime EW settings and expose their bands, rates, ranges, etc. . .just to buzz a ship?
Gawd. . .such BS.
You mean the jets flying training mission into and out of Holloman. . .jets flying benign flight profiles and taking no defensive measures or active EW protection protocols?
Annoying to be painted when flying training missions and not working an EW range. . .and with training tapes, too.
My point in Post 64. Great minds and all that. . .
Passive sensors habe this problem called amplification of signals. Warlock devices in Iraq would disable radios and electronics of helicopters. Even a Radar beam can fry a transponder.
Your examples are a far cry from EMP. Modern transducers are not nearly as fragile as you think.
Just how much generating power do you think a Russian fighter can muster?
You are selling the AEGIS designers short.
Well, let us hope they do not rely on Microsoft windows and are multithreading and backing up their system in multiple redundancy. Because the physical removal of key datas the system expect is exactly what a hacking crash concept would work from a SU24 platform. They do not need to hack the system, just have it crash and hack itself.
LOL! They had me until this line. All bullshit.
Ok so now you want to change the subject.
Russian propaganda.
Yep. We all know how well that superior Russian technology worked against us in Iraq.
It would have been more amusing if they had claimed that the crew defected to the Russian Navy.
