A former NASA scientist has described global warming as "nonsense", dismissing the theory of man-made climate change as "an unsubstantiated hypothesis" and saying that it is "absolutely stupid" to blame the recent UK floods on human activity.
Professor Les Woodcock, who has had a long and distinguished academic career, also said there is "no reproducible evidence" that carbon dioxide levels have increased over the past century, and blamed the green movement for inflicting economic damage on ordinary people.
Professor Woodcock is Emeritus Professor of Chemical Thermodynamics at the University of Manchester and has authored over 70 academic papers for a wide range of scientific journals. He received his PhD from the University of London, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a recipient of a Max Planck Society Visiting Fellowship, and a founding editor the journal Molecular Simulation. Professor Woodcock told the Yorkshire Evening Post:
"The term 'climate change' is meaningless. The Earth's climate has been changing since time immemorial, that is since the Earth was formed....

Surely he jests...
I am going to call this one and say it’s settled.
I 2nd your motion.
I don’t know about the anthropogentic part, but I think it is pretty clearly accepted even by most skeptics that atmospheric CO2 has risen significantly in the past 100 years. I am not sure how expertise in Chemical Thermodynamics provides the expertise for his claims. Yes, climate changes, and in the 65 years I have been observing it, I would say that on the east coast of the US it has gotten warmer, especially in winter.
This story of course is going to get wide coverage by the MSM....../s off.
That name... the name... the poor guy....
Yea, like this winter for instance. It was terribly warm and probably one of the mildest winters on record in the North East.
I’m sure glad that in 1914, they had the forsight to make detailed CO2 emissions readings in the upper atmosphere.
That’s why it’s so easy to speak with authority what has happened over the last 100 years when talking to the unwashed masses.
Still cold here in the upper midwest. We’re looking at a considerably shortened growing season this year.
The communists took over the ‘green’ movement back in its earliest days in Germany. It is a progressive take over....it only gets worse never better
You are ill educated. Chemical thermodynamics is exactly what takes place in the atmosphere....
And for you to think that this winter was warmer in the eastern US suggests that you didn’t go outside very much.
There is NO correlation between CO2 levels and weather patterns.....hence there can be NO causation
You’re on a different east coast than I am. Almost May and it still feels like winter.
That was my take too.
I’m not back there, but it was my take this wss a pretty tough winter.
April showers are supposed to bring May flowers but we’ll be lucky if we get leaves.
I am talking about a trend over 65 years of personal observation. Yes, this winter was fairly cold, but not as cold as winters I remember from 40 or 50 years ago, and last winter was quite warm.
Toughest winter of my adulthood. I can’t really speak for when I was a kid because that’s a pretty distorted lens.
Shipping is still disrupted due to ice on Lake Superior.
wrong.
and it’s “anthropogenic” (human caused global warming that is their theory and claim).
for the last decade (after the hoaxed data or “hockey stick” data is taken out), temps have actually fallen slightly or remained flat (depending on the source) while the claim is that global CO2 data has risen ever so slightly.
thus, there is no correlation (let alone causation) of any kind between average global temp and CO2, supported by any stream of unhoaxed climate data. in fact, there are loads of data to the contrary going back to the middle ages. that is what is known in science as a complete falsification of global warming theory.
Oh hell yeah.
We're just dyin up here. (snowed yesterday)
“I am talking about a trend over 65 years of personal observation. Yes, this winter was fairly cold, but not as cold as winters I remember from 40 or 50 years ago, and last winter was quite warm.”
Good grief, you’re living on some other planet. You ain’t no Farmer’s Almanac, that’s for sure.
