“If you’re not suggesting we should go to war or send troops, what are you saying?”

1) Trim the welfare state.
2) Bring back American jobs.
3) Restore freedom and initiative to this country.
4) Stop weakening our military.

The day comes where we will need a strong people, strong economy, and a strong military.
Crimea isn't the battlefield ... and that's good. Because we're not ready. But we should be getting ready.

Good points. Regardless of what Russia does, there are many things we must do at home first.

"But we should be getting ready"

For what?

Syria? Iran? China? Russia? Re-Invade Iraq?

You, McCain, and the NeoCons need to put together a list of priorities about who we will be going to war with.

As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is, to use it as sparingly as possible; avoiding occasions of expense by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertions in time of peace to discharge the debts, which unavoidable wars may have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burthen, which we ourselves ought to bear.

Your #2 and #3 are contradictory. How can the federal government “bring back American jobs”? And how does that “restore freedom and initiative to this country”? Too vague and meaningless phrases. But, hey, the list feels nice.

I could not agree more.
