She was known for helping out the family when the first daughters were born and received a nice passage in his first book, yet President Barack Obama’s late aunt wasn’t important enough for him to skip his golf game.
When Zeituni Onyango died two weeks ago, President Obama helped pay for the funeral expenses, and sent a note. Instead of attending her funeral, the New York Times reports he went golfing instead.
“Weeping before a polished wood coffin at her wake this past Saturday, they described Ms. Onyango, the half sister of the president’s father, as ‘the spirit of the Obama family’ and talked about raising money to send her body back to Kenya. Mr. Obama helped pay funeral expenses and sent a condolence note, Ms. Onyango’s family members said, but the president did not attend, as he was golfing,” Jason Horowitz wrote in the New York Times.
The newspaper delves into the strained relationship that the president has with his extended family.
Obama’s half-brother, Malik Obama, flew in for the funeral services but didn’t expect to see his famous half-brother.
While Malik Obama was once close to the president, his political future has strained their relationship.
“Right now, I would say that things have changed.”

This is just about like the old golf joke involving a funeral procession and a punch line something like: “Well,” Charlie says, “we were married for 25 years.”
She’s not worth the time and trouble. Obama has more important things to do.
He caught so much flak at Mandella’s funeral; it might be for the best to skip this one. Besides, no hot head’s of state to flirt with at his aunt’s funeral.
His whole family is nothing but “half” this and “step” that. Aren’t there ANY normal relations in his family?
If Obama attended the funeral, there would a lot of press coverage, and then a lot more people would learn about his illegal alien aunt allowed to live in government housing for years despite deportation orders. Then they might learn about his drunk driver illegal alien uncle, and his corrupt politician half brother, and ...
Maybe a few voters would say, “Who the freep are these people, anyway?!?”

If I recall correctly, at the time of Obama’s grandmother’s death, there were reports that his wife and daughters had never met his grandmother. The family has some secrets and strained relationships, it would appear.

The only person alive who is beloved of Obama is himself. Obama tolerates his children, pretends to tolerate his wife, but he probably spends every free moment he has in self-worship, expressing his only true love.
That was my thought.
He doesn’t have a strong sense of duty, though, when it comes to this type of stuff. I remember a few years ago there was a big to-do about a visit to some wounded veterans being cancelled.(It might have been during the campaign.) There were various explanations, one being that he would have missed a work-out. But my explanation was that he didnt feel like it, pure and simple.
I think it’s partly a characteristic if his age group, not just being Obama. A lot of baby-boomers and gen x-ers have a different view if stuff like trust than earlier generations. “Duty” is for the birds. They do what they want to or have to, that’s it. Thats one if the reasons that church attendance in this group ebbs and flows. To them pleasing themselves and not being hypocrites is the real virtue.
After the Islamic prayers; Golf is Obama’s most enticing pleasure...
It’s been over 20 years...I still haven’t forgotten this fraud clown act.

Personally, I do not believe that the now dead aunt and also the dead uncle were his blood relatives. Just more B.S. for us to swallow. I do however believe that golf is far more important to odumbo then some funeral.
