BLACK LEADER (Alan Keyes) SAYS NEVADA RANCHER BUNDY'S REMARKS NOT RACIST-It's the Truth
Liberty News ^ | 24 Apr 14 | Bob Unruh

A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.

“He wasn’t talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks,” said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.

Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundy’s son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.

Keyes said that was evident.

“I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure,” Keyes told WND. “All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.”

Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream “racism,” he said.

“I think it’s time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects – the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. It’s time we called them what they are,” he said.

“Now it’s racist to point it out.”

No, they didn’t “get him to talk” about race - he voluntarily started talking about it. That’s what ticks me off about him. All he had to do was FOCUS!!! And that focus should have been on the fight at hand - but he chose to speak about the bigger picture and BINGO! Harry and the Whores had their diversion.

Keyes looks at outcome not 'feelings'... He's right on this... ping-a-ling...

Does “man up” mean to you that we follow Bundy wherever he leads, even when he gets distracted by a jackrabbit headed over the racism cliff? I think not!

I understand the grazing, personal property, easement, government overreach issue better than most - likely far better than you - since I have been paying attention to it for several years through my brother's fight with BLM and a municipality trying to take his property - even killing some of his cattle. So don't you dare call me cupcake, you johnny-come-lately.

This battle is not about government handouts except in a very peripheral way. Bundy's foolish, ill-timed, ill-conceived words have hurt those who have been in the trenches of this war for a long time, and were beginning to see hope dawning by Bundy drawing national attention to the fight - only to have him squander the resources and the building emotion with his irrelevant babble.

Oh - you mean the people who are not enough ADD to stick with Bundy’s schizophrenic topic leaps? It is Bundy who shifted the discussion - NOBODY else!

The problem is one of FOCUS! And Bundy lost his - right at a crucial point. By losing focus he set his very righteous cause back years, and others will suffer before it this battle is won.

Anybody who pays attention enough to understand the larger problem, and anybody who has run cattle in the Nevada desert all his life, should understand the importance of focus. It is frustrating to see the battle falter because of a needless self-inflicted wound.

If people are going to wet their pants with fear when hearing simple people state the truth not slimed up with the nasty slugslime of political correctness, then they’re doomed.

They’re enablers of the enemy.

The unvarnished simple truth is bracing, like jumping in a cold stream. It is JUST what this country needs. This is a real dividing line. Any so-called conservative who wee wees in their pants about Bundy telling the truth might as well just go register as a Dem and vote straight Dem ticket. They’re just helping the leftist/commies/racists/etc

No, he was talking about the overbearing government.

The entire rif was just an illustration of an overbearing government....from the Watts comment on to the end.

Let me apologize. I am deeply sorry you can’t walk and chew gum simultaneously.

There is no leap of logic involved. The crap you are coming up with was hashed and rehashed over the last 48 hours by more than one person looking to lead conservatives out of the fight with doom and gloom. All such nonsense got the attention it deserved. And the people spouting it marked themselves forever for what they were.

Now if you expect me to go through all your talking points again, sorry. Not happening. But feel free to keep spouting Harry’s greatest hits and calling them good conservative logic.

We could use the entertainment.

Good connection. Pavlovian.

And it’s time Americans woke up to this conditioning, and I think many are.

You are spreading the racial meme. It is what it is. If you don’t think he is a racist than explain why this is an issue at all? you should be bitching people are lying about him.

That ain’t what you are doing now is it...No. you are pushing it.

As for the rest, why don’t you head to your local library and look up Time Magazine from April 26, 1999. Read it. And get back to me about people in the fight for a long time. When you have the MSM go after you personally by name, get back to me.

Human garbage is what it is. And anyone that backs Reid and the other leftists regardless of the subject is IMO, nothing but human garbage.

Yes, the part you point out is the heart of Keyes’ comments. It’s what attracted me, anyway.

Sticking to the issue - I’m about the only one on this thread that is even MENTIONING the issue - that of property rights, easements, grazing, state sovereignty and federal overreach - everybody else is yapping about: “He’s not really a racist, this is what he meant, he is telling the truth...” and NOTHING about the issue...THAT is my point. Lots of talk, lots of exposure, lots of outrage about government ignoring personal property rights - and Sean Hannity was in the forefront of that charge. Hardly a peep, even here, about that issue since (Hannity is one of the few who have continued to pursue the property rights battle after this mess hit the fan).

You claimed that I have called Bundy a racist - which is an outright lie! I doubt there are few here who can state with any assurance whether he is or isn’t a racist. I don’t know, I don’t know the man, so I don’t make statements one way or another about it. Besides - it is a distraction...while Harry and the Fed Raiders go about scooping up whatever property and rights they decide to take, you all squabble about whether Bundy is a racist, what he did or didn’t mean, who is or isn’t supporting him (HIM? He’s a man! I never supported him, my support was for his cause - and that’s a heck of a lot bigger, and truer than any man.)...meanwhile, our rights continue to slip away.

Your post #50.

So why,oh why did Bundy ring that bell???

As the talking heads say on television "that's a good question". I certainly don't know, but I would take a guess. Media make a person feel that they are that person's friends. They know how to penetrate a person's defences. That being said there is the possibility that no one took the rancher aside and warned him.

I am always reminded of the parable of the Scorpion and the Frog. I will permit myself a description of much of the media in this.

Two faced swine.

The ‘issue’ is that you are bring up and harping on the fact that Bundy commented on slavery as if it were somehow unrelated to the land use issue. Clearly it is related when the liberals are taking us down the path of slavery and their usurpation of land/land rights id one way they do it.

Now, having been involved in the land rights to the extent that Time Magazine, in an era they still had influence, thought I was enough of a problem to call me lots of bad names/inferences, I can speak with some authority on the issue.

For you to discredit the connection and focus on his use of the comparison implies directly that he did something wrong. And clearly he did not as we have repeatedly established over the past two days.

Now if you keep harping on his mention of race, what exactly are we supposed to logically conclude here?

You lie again - I have never spread the racial “meme” (stupid, liberal media word), I’ve railed against it - and mostly against Bundy for giving it an opening.

Why should I bitch about people calling Bundy a racist? It is a diversion, and besides, they are rattlesnakes acting like rattlesnakes. My bitch is with Bundy sticking his head into a rattlesnake den when there is a battle to fight; and with you and others taking your eye off the ball to tell the rattlesnakes to be more like jackrabbits or something.

Why don’t you just state your involvement? I’ve told you mine.
