A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.
He wasnt talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks, said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.
Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundys son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.
Keyes said that was evident.
I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure, Keyes told WND. All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.
Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream racism, he said.
I think its time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. Its time we called them what they are, he said.
Now its racist to point it out.

There are a lot of "knee-jerk opiners" on FR who need to be the first to respond even though they haven't bothered to look for facts or put on their thinking caps. Many use twisted "logic" instead of reasoned thinking. Trying to get into a debate with them usually ends up with them calling you names while they refuse to tell you why they are right and you are wrong. I't disturbing, considering that FR is supposed to be trying to champion Conservatism, that so many display a marked inability to do more than quip and say, "You're wrong and a Democrat plant" when one questions them.
They are the only black conservatives in the entire country?
I hope you’re right, that the damage is not fatal. I just see a lot of supportive attention wandering elsewhere now...I hope it can be reassembled.
The issue has exposure, the news cycles demand filling with fresh stuff or people with their short attention spans will indeed surf the channels.
I hope, too that those who have wandered will reassemble when the time comes.
Doubtless, some are belatedly giving serious thought to what would have been should conflict have ensued, and some will fade out as a result.
It is early yet.
They're one element of it. If they don't get defensive and resort to name calling, I'm okay with them. As they become more informed and more cynical, they begin to understand constitutional conservatives.
The other group is those who have highjacked the conservative movement and much of the "tea party" to mean no taxes, wars all over the world to spread global elitist control, and unrestrained profit, often through dirty deals with the federal government. In the Bundy case a lot of the "conservatives" are on the side of the gov making deals with the connected at the expense of US citizens, our livelihood, and states rights. They loved the Bundy false labels, and jumped on them as an excuse to abandon Bundy's cause....they had to know it was coming, to abandon the grazing rights issue so quickly.
I want our side to be free to think outside any box. Democrats can march in lockstep - as all totalitarian jerks do... This is just not my issue. I really don’t want our people to ‘stay on message’... the concept is offensive.
