A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.
He wasnt talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks, said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.
Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundys son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.
Keyes said that was evident.
I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure, Keyes told WND. All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.
Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream racism, he said.
I think its time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. Its time we called them what they are, he said.
Now its racist to point it out.

I may not have a supporter on this thread - truth has never been dependent on support. I will continue to point out the truth.
The truth is you have no idea of how to push a cause forward, you’re too busy shooting your allies, not being wise enough to understand that you don’t need uniformity of thought on every issue to build a winning coalition for this one.
Good luck in your silly efforts in important battles. You being far more interested in the inconsequential than in the relevant. :)
No doubt you are...but you keep very stupid company, obviously.
They will. when I was Senior Ed at Off-Road.com in the 90s/early 2000s, we fought for keeping land open to outdoor recreation. More people took the same route Bundy’s detractors are today. The result was twofold. 1: ALL of the land we fought for is either closed today or severely restricted to human use. 2: The forementioned folks simply moved on to another activity as if it were no big thing.
The reason his statements are a big deal is that conservatives have mostly conceded the field to the left. If we were playing the game right, his statements wouldn’t matter. We should be aggressively hammering the left day in and day out so that the occasional misstep by some average Joe is down in the noise. Blaming Bundy for this is putting the blame in the wrong place.
BE - you have already proven elsewhere that you have no idea what the point is - so quit trying to argue it.
I agree. thus the tender moments I share with you.
Are you both so foolish that you dont understand how Bundy completely destroyed his cause for the moment? Are you so infatuated with Bundy that you dont care about the true issue? Is it more satisfying to you to snipe at someone like me, than it is to win the larger fight?
Youre not only fools, youre petty fools. We can never make progress if you are leading the charge...and Norm, if youve been in the fight as long as you say, you might question why youve made so little progress. Have you allowed yourself to be so easily diverted in the past? I suspect you have.
This would be hilarious if it wasn’t so poisonous. I wonder if GilesB works for the GOP in some way. Or some other organization. The “larger fight” is what I replied to you earlier - the behemoth tyrannical fedgov that is enslaving all of us in myriad ways from A to Z. It is not at all about property rights. It’s about a criminal gang using its power to take away all of everyones’ Constitutional rights. The Bundy Ranch sympolizes it all.
I understand what you’re saying - but conservatives keep playing into the hands of the liberals, playing to their strengths, which is not smart strategy...and we keep doing it, then we all get distracted by arguing why whatever was said shouldn’t be important in the larger scope of things.
Bundy was actually building steam in that locomotive, and then he shot a hole in the boiler.
Conservative keep playing to the liberal’s strength, handing them the very weapons they use to defeat us, over and over again. Talking about race in a fight over grazing rights is just foolish. Conservatives would be better to say simply, as I have been, that was a stupid move, it only takes focus away from the issue....AND GO BACK TO THE ISSUE. But we get caught up in defending the diversionary statement.
Watch the liberals, they never get off message. They keep pounding and pounding and pounding. But they easily get the conservatives off message because we tend to equate the messenger and the message. Bundy did a dumb thing. I’m not afraid to point it out, while still stating clearly that he was right in his case against BLM. Now I think I understand why he has lost in court each time. His court loses don’t help his case either, and I believe if he had been making the right case - like the Hages did - he would have won - like the Hages did.
Good point. Some of the names I’m not familiar with. Are some lefty sleeper agents?
It’s not a wound. You want it to be though, for reasons known only to yourself.
He told the truth, and fools or insidious deceitful two faced mr. anonymous types like you feign outrage and “woe is me all is lost” when Bundy’s words were 100% true, and millions of Americans agree with him.
We need MUCH MORE unvarnished truth, not less of it. The MSM will always hate unvarnished truth. So to Kenneth Mehlmans such as yourself, the thought of the MSM’s hatred is worse than death, and you hate unvarnished truth as much as the MSM, all leftists, and Harry Reid.
And since I’m going to be too busy to respond, I bid you adios.
I can’t say it to someome with confidence that I personally KNOW that ‘X’ freeper is a shill for the libs or the GOP. But I can say that when a posters actions mirror left wing and GOP talking points, memes etc to the very letter, then it’s a pretty good probability they are.
It’s no secret that FR is the top conservative site, nor is it a secret that RINOs and Leftists employ paid shills to infiltrate sites who oppose them. Ergo, simple math. The person we send cat pix to could well be a paid disruptor.
Liberals use political correctness and racism like a baseball bat. Yes it is a stimulus that gets a large reaction from liberals. So what? Liberals “misspeak” all the time and they just let it run off their back like water on a duck. They stay on message no matter what. Conservatives might want to try that instead of running from any controversy like many do.
True.
One of the most thoughtful and intelligent comments made in this entire thread. Thank you. I suspect you’re right...but I am left puzzled how a man so cognizant of the political issues involved in his case could be so ignorant of the political landscape that he would allow himself to get so far off topic. How often do we keep seeing champions of great causes get derailed by their own faux pas?
I did see hints of that earlier, I guess, when his main argument seemed to be the fed’s right to own land within the state. Now I think he has a sound argument there, but the easier argument to win (which the Hages DID win) is the case of his grazing easement that predates the federal “possession” of the land. In trying to make the larger, more difficult argument, he lost a winnable case...which actually hurt the larger cause as everyone continues to point at his losses in court to diminish his credibility.
The only reason moronic liberals have strengths is that conservatives haven’t been willfull enough. The reason for this is understandable: conservatives have a natural humility because they understand the limits of human knowledge. Unfortunately we are up against an ideology that doesn’t understand such limits, and so we must go against our natural instincts in order to counter it. This is a risky proposition that takes us outside of our comfort zone but we must do it in order to be effective against this particular adversary. Our progeny will thank us for taking the risk and making the effort.
Look at this thread most like it. We know the libs and the GOP want the race issue to obscure the BLM. And 99% of the thread fully agrees that Bundy’s comments were both true and part of the bigger picture.
And yet what do we see? We see a poster that goes full alynski to push the very same MAM/Left/GOP memes on the issue.
Does any normal person walk into a crowded room and pick a fight with literally everyone in it? Do they keep rehashing the very same arguments that repeatedly have been proven false and discarded for two days? Or is that something someone with more of...shall we say...an agenda might do?
I know what I think about it.
This is not a movie, with a script. Bundy is not a slick politician. The many issues raised by his run in with the BLM are important, and need to be addressed. Bundy is not a knight riding in to save us all, but why do we need one? We need to stand on issues, we shouldn’t need a “star” to rally around.
Can you post this? I knew Donald Sterling was a liberal elite - his hatred is that of a ‘superior’.... He probably has the same contempt for conservatives....
Democrat Donor Donald Sterling Caught on Tape Spewing Racist Comments
Maybe, certainly not for any conservative organization.
Maybe it's time to call it a troll and move on.
I did call it a troll (a Kenneth Mehlman..) and bid him adios...
I just had to have my little say.
