A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.
He wasnt talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks, said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.
Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundys son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.
Keyes said that was evident.
I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure, Keyes told WND. All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.
Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream racism, he said.
I think its time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. Its time we called them what they are, he said.
Now its racist to point it out.

Funny how that happens when they can’t turn the conversation to prepped talking points isn’t it?
It is a property rights issue - thinking men have always understood that property rights is the foundation of freedom.
It is a critical battle in the larger war. This battle was lost - it will need to be re-engaged and won or the war is lost. And yes, this battle is far more important in this war than the question of how government handouts enslave people.
It is frustrating and demoralizing to realize that all conservatives don’t understand what just happened here, and how easy it was to avoid. This was self-inflicted, and as long as folks don’t understand the critical error in judgement made here, conservatives will keep making the same mistakes over and over - like Norm is insisting on.
It is one thing when the enemy forces the distraction, it is a whole nother thing when it is a completely self inflicted wound as it was in this case.
Prominent Black Leader Alan Keyes??????
Yeah, I agree. I think the gist of his comments was right on the money. However I do think that in the tactical sense, according to the rules of public conversation established by the New York Times, they were counterproductive. But I don’t think the ultimate solution is to conform to those rules but rather to smash them, and in think you do that by 1) being smart, and 2) being willful. I think conservatives have got the smart part down pretty well but need some shoring up in the willfulness department.
Amen!
Are you both so foolish that you don’t understand how Bundy completely destroyed his cause for the moment? Are you so infatuated with Bundy that you don’t care about the true issue? Is it more satisfying to you to snipe at someone like me, than it is to win the larger fight?
You’re not only fools, you’re petty fools. We can never make progress if you are leading the charge...and Norm, if you’ve been in the fight as long as you say, you might question why you’ve made so little progress. Have you allowed yourself to be so easily diverted in the past? I suspect you have.
Thats pretty much it. They don’t get to define the conversation unless they are allowed to. Unfortunately their plan of attack is designed to do just that. Define it. Over time, they cowed more and more people into believing it and now we have Wikipedia articles speaking as fact that free speech has racial limits.
nope. They use hat power to run people out of jobs today. They will use it to herd non libs into camps tomorrow.
Or we can resist it. Now.
Give up. No one cares.
Is smashing those rules more important than the original issue? A case might be made that it is - I don’t think so. I think you smash those rules by being very smart about the battle and hand, win that battle, and whittle at the rules as you win the fight at hand.
This statement, right as it was, had no potential to further the cause - even without the “rules of engagement”. So there was no reason to do it, and it handed Harry and the Whores the exact diversion they were frantically searching for.
OK. You can stop beating the horse.
It’s dead, Jim.
It furthered the cause. People are talking about both issues now. More than ever.
Oh and they are ALSO talking about what utter FRAUDS the RINOs were and people like Beck/Hannity. And they lost viewers and RINOs lost support. Win/Win...well for us anyway. Us being conservatives. Shills, leftists and RINOS arent thrilled though.
What an idiot. I know you don’t care about your own idiocy - I’m trying to educate the well-meaning others that you are influencing to value the personality over the truth.
The truth is Bundy shot himself in the foot. You have equated Bundy and the cause, and are now defending Bundy at the expense of the cause. And yes, I care about that kind of stupidity that derails important causes....and you are too stupid to realize you’re doing it, busy shooting the messenger giving you information you don’t want to hear.
You are about the only one keeping the charge alive on this board.
Give it up, I’m sure there are other chat rooms where you can stir the flames more effectively than here.
You don’t have one supporter on this thread. You educate in the way the public schools educate...you indoctrinate. But no one cares. No one listens. And the RINOs are gonna pay a heavy price at the polls because of that sort of failure. Because your fellow travelers across the web are faring no better winning us over. Go have a look for yourself.
In fact do anything that gets you out of our hair.
“What an idiot. I know you dont care about your own idiocy”
Oh Saul, I do so love it when you freeze and personalize me! Do it again. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!
Oh yeah! One of the most basic tenets of winning a fight is to distribute you strength across as many fronts as possible. That always wins the day!
You are such a moron that you don’t realize that Hannity has been one of the most consistent warriors regarding personal property rights - and that he has continued that fight even while disagreeing with Bundy’s foolish comments.
You make assumptions about me that are completely wrong - but you are too obtuse to understand the error of your ways - and it makes your “arguments” nothing more than whiny tantrums.
Dude, I already told you I’m the smartest man in any room I walk into. So I can’t be wrong.
I mean, that’s basic logic.
I look at Bundy’s remarks as oriented around work.
He reminds me of a man like my father was. It was about independence. Independence brought with it the responsibility of work.
Taking someone’s independence away automatically takes life force and self-worth. That was his argument against FDR and especially The Great Society. Shoveling money someone’s way encourages the person toward sloth and siphons off the person’s will toward independence.
My father worked his shoe leather almost until he died. That same week, he was shoveling stone on a driveway. I don’t think he would have wanted to go any other way.
He raised us kids up to work like banshees. Because of my parents, I can see Bundy as a free man, independent, who is fighting for that independence all the way home. For that, I stand with him.
That said, to all the folks who support the ‘law’ of the BLM, let me ask you whether, two years hence, when we see Reid or whoever Chinese or environmental crony ends up with Bundy land to destroy at will, won’t you just feel all righteous that the ‘law’ was upheld—whether that ‘law’s’ goalposts were moved by bureaucratic edict or not (or by a federal judge at the bidding of federal pol commands)? I ask because the federal government is extraordinarily liberal in finding in its own favor. Money and power are its food groups, after all, and Bundy’s in the way.
