Howdy buckaroos. It's been a while since I got my country groove on, so tonight I'm featuring a little band out of Columbus, Ohio who formed in 1999 in Nashville and debuted in 2000, taking the music industry by storm. They've released a total of nine studio albums, all of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America. Those hit albums have accounted for 26 single releases and all of them have charted within the top 20 or higher on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including 12 which reached the number one slot. That's impressive by any standards and speaks to the band's unique ability to speak to the heartland of America.

Consiting of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney and a select group of Nashville's finest backing musicians, Rascal Flatts has become one of the brightest stars on the country music scene. A recent CMT Crossroads broadcast of the band teaming with rock icons Journey showed them to be solidly grounded in rock as well as their unique brand of pop country featuring Gary LeVox' instantly recognizable lead vocals. In less than 15 years on the scene they've accumulated a laundry list of awards from the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, The American Music Awards, The American Country Awards, The People's Choice Awards, Radio Music Awards as well as numerous awards from BMI, Billboard and Country Music Television. They've also received Grammy Awards for Best Country Song and Best Songwriter Awards, Stars on the Music City Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in 2011 were inducted as Members of the Grand Ole Opry. Their place in the Hall of Fame is still in the future and they appear to be an unstoppable force in popular music.

So relax this weekend and enjoy a showcase of Rascal Flatts.
