Exclusive: Putin Halts All Talks With White House
Daily Beast ^ | 4/25/14 | Josh Rogin

As new U.S. sanctions against Russia loom, the Kremlin has shut down—at least for now—intensive high level communications between top U.S. and Russian officials.

Since the invasion of Crimea, President Vladimir Putin and President Barack Obama have had regular phone calls in an often half-hearted attempt to deescalate the ongoing crisis inside Ukraine. But as the U.S. and EU prepare to unveil new sanctions against Russia, Putin has decided the interactions should stop. The Kremlin has ended high-level contact with the Obama administration, according to diplomatic officials and sources close to the Russian leadership. The move signals an end to the diplomacy, for now.

“Putin will not talk to Obama under pressure,” said Igor Yurgens, Chairman of the Institute for Contemporary Development, a prominent Moscow think tank, and a close associate of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. “It does not mean forever.”

Obama and Putin last spoke over the phone on April 14, a call that the White House said was initiated at Moscow’s request. Obama urged Putin in the call to end Kremlin support for armed, pro-Russian activists creating unrest in eastern Ukraine. Obama also warned that the U.S. would impose more “costs” on Russia if Putin continued his current course. According to the Kremlin’s readout of the call, Putin denied Russian interference in eastern Ukraine and said “that such speculations are based on inaccurate information.”

Personally, I'm so mistrusting of all these people at this point that I would not be surprised if all of this is cover while Obama continues to work with Putin.

“And now Putin has obviously grown tired of Obama and his childishness.”

Remember...
We have an Administration that thinks creating new Twitter hashtags is how you defeat the Russians.

It is all the Alinkyites know.
(And Alinsky was a “KGB Useful Idiot”. Go figure...)

Just more evidence of all the friendships Obama has won the US after the terrible record of Bush diplomacy. /s

I would so love to know what Edward Snowden has provided Putin with to bring about this mockery of America, the once strongest power on this earth.

So now what? Putin has “hung up the phone” and can go about doing whatever he wants. President Scary Barry. What a sham.

"Obama is going to start WWIII precisely because he has ZERO diplomatic experience. Or military experience. Or foreign relations experience."

Possibly ZERO allies as well, at least until he's gone and our traditional allies no longer have to watch their backs.

Bush called him "Pooty Poot" and had him scared to death when we kicked ass in Afghanistan and Iraq, making it look easy. Yeah, we botched the occupations, but that's another story.

Anyway, Obama calls him Master.

I don't think Alinsky was an idiot. He was part of the operation. However, Obama was and remains one of the useful idiots, a true believer.

Checkmate. It’s amazing what leverage a KGB dossier can bring to a negotiation.

They couldn’t distinguish the White House calls from pre-teen phone pranksters from the Moscow suburbs.

“What...?”

“And, what are you going to do about it?”

“Who my mother...?”

Actually I wish this issue would just dissolve in some fashion and just go away. I don’t trust either of these commies and either could take actions contrary to our interests simply to divert away from their political problems. Obama is not competent enough to deal with major adversaries like this

Well, it’s not entirely unexpected is it? We have a Muslim in charge of a purged military surrounded by Machivelli clones. And best of all, all that stands between them is a group of republicans who opposed NOTHING this arseclown has done in any meaningful way and could have tied his hands years ago.

They did NOTHING.

There is a group on the right that needs to take a very serious look in the mirror right now and tell them self that they were very mistaken. That electing principled people really DOES matter. And WW3 on the doorstep is pretty much WHY it matters.
Or DID matter. Because at the rate this is going, they are likely to never have to worry about voting or anything else again. I hope that isn’t the case, but it is not looking good.

And if, by the grace of God alone this does not escalate further, they may wish to consider that.

Sounds rather ominous. Perhaps an invasion of eastern Ukraine is coming soon.

Good insight. US foreign policy, even before Obama, has been focused around using 1960’s civil rights/anti-war type protest tactics as a tool to remove unfavored governments.

"What is none of our business?"

Ukraine. Lybia. Syria. Serbia. Egypt.

There's lots of them.
