It is 100% clear that Cliven Bundy is not saying that blacks should be slaves picking cotton, but that the Federal government has created conditions for them so terrible, that their current situation may actually be worse. (If you are person of low intelligence, the fact that that is his point might be too hard for you to understand.) And he’s not blaming blacks for the issues of abortions, and crime and broken families, he’s blaming the Feds.

When I first heard the FULL quote, I mentally changed the word “blacks” to the word “anybody”. It’s a true statement.

Don’t tell me they don’t work, and don’t tell me they don’t pay taxes. And don’t tell me they don’t have better family structure than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they’re together, they picnic together, they’re spending their time together, and I’ll tell you in my way of thinking they’re awful nice people.

To tell the truth, until I watched this video, I was inclined to think as you do. I realize now how wrong I was.
All I'm trying to say is that the guy is making it very difficult for various media , politicians and regular people to support him. I agree with him on the grazing rights, have some problems with anyone saying maybe slavery is a better option and totally against the amnesty option.
I'm against the alphabet agency's heavy handed handling of various situation and even though I didn't weigh in previously on the Negro threads I don't think you can totally disregard the concerns.
Mr. Bundy is not a politician or a candidate for anything. But he needs to do what a tea party candidate should do. Stand by your statements and don't back down. He has a good message. And he is right. He just didn't use the exact right words.
The problem is, there are no right words that a conservative can say. According to the media. Or the left. Same thing, but anyway....I have no tolerance for racists. Nothing in what Mr. Bundy said sounded to me to be racist. Everything he said sounds racist to Liberals. So, who's right?
Heck, I don't know the man, maybe he is a racist. But there is nothing wrong with this particular message. As a matter of fact it needs to be hammered into the nation's consciousness. By a more polished messenger to be sure.
Everyone--even the harshest critics of Bundy's comments--understands that this was his point. Most people, however (other than the relatively few people who are defending/agreeing with the comments) understand that the point is complete bullsh*t. Yes, government policies have done untold harm to the black family structure since at least the Great Society in the 60s. But, as bad as modern policies have been, they don't even begin to compare to the harm and horrors caused by slavery.
Maybe not. But truth isn’t always easy. It’s our job, individually, to ascertain truth. The media and govt. proved they cannot be trusted. Nor can their little elves running around the web.
I get what you are saying. But we have a responsibility to ourselves and to the country as a whole to not be sheep.
