I was an elected member of a legislative body. Historically, this body had named government buildings and forest preserves after both dead and living politicians.

When a preserve was named after a still-breathing former forest preserve commissioner and he later ended up in a federal Graybar Hotel, legislation was quickly drawn up and passed to name any piece of land or building after those who had already shuffled off this mortal coil.

You can bet that at some time in the future the above school will, out of necessity, change it's name from Barack Obama to George Washington or George Washington Carver, depending on the location.
