Here's what the boss says, along with my comments presented respectfully thereafter:
Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
As I see it, and I pinged Mr. Robinson to make sure I'm not misconstruing his words, the purpose of Free Republic is for pro-God, pro-life Conservative Activism. In my opinion, there can be minor differences of opinions about how best to advocate the Conservative Cause and those can be debated, often passionately. But -- again IMHO -- this forum isn't the place to "debate" or stand for anything that erodes our freedoms, granted to us not by a king or any man but solely by God.
One can believe that fedgov overreach has attained scary proportions, that it is militarized far beyond what any citizen should reasonably countenance, acting in an unconstitutional manner, is in dire need of having a stand taken against some of it’s actions by us and yet believe, and have believed from the start, that Mr. Bundy and his particular set of facts and circumstances do not make the best case in terms of being a symbol or the point at which to fight.
hell, yeah, BLM is acting crazy. But some honest conservatives have been saying that this is not the case to take to the media. Even the Founding Fathers knew when to pick their battles. Just a cranky .02
