Ted Cruz: Gay marriage could put our 1st Amendment rights at risk [July 23, 2013]

Liberal heads begin to explode in 5..4…3…2…1

During an interview this past Friday with CBN’s David Brody, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) stressed that gay marriage could put our 1st Amendment protections at risk.

“If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, that’s the next step of where it gets enforced.

“It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages, who speak out and preach biblical truths on marriage and that has been defined elsewhere as hate speech — as inconsistent with the enlightened view of government.

“I think there is no doubt that the advocates who are driving this effort in the United States want to see us end up in that same place,” Cruz said.

Rand Paul has been shooting himself in the foot on these conservative issues for awhile, expect more of this in the primary hopefully it will turn primary voters off.

That whole kerfuffle has nothing to do with defending rights, and everything to do with coercion, and the thwarting of rights.

Yep. The gay agenda operates on the assumption that individual, peaceful, free rejection of the open display of homosexuality (imagine what would happen if theme parks kicked out obvious same-sex romantic couples, which I believe they would if they could) is the equivalent of outlawing their personal homosexuality. Sure, states have laws against sodomy, but on a real plane, civilized Christian society operates on a "Do unto others" model, which works very well. Discretion is the better part of valor. Everybody gets along.

Here we have a situation that sets itself up as the force of LAW decreeing that adoption agencies cooperate equally with homosexual "parents" as father-mother parents. Twisted and perverse. All humans have the God-given right to peacefully discriminate against open homosexuality or not, to whatever degree.

Good point, I’m going to steal that

Please do more than steal it. Spread it around. Folks need to know how the Christian bakers were treated as opposed to how the muslim cab drivers were treated.

Christian bakers: horrible bigots
muslim cab drivers: simply following their religious beliefs

Although true, I don’t like this issued posed from merely the “free speech” standpoint. It is much more profound than that.

It is the forcing of a reordering of reality which cannot work.
