Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher around whom some Republicans and conservative activists have rallied in a high-profile fight against the federal government, made disparaging comments about African-Americans in an interview with The New York Times published Thursday.
Bundy wondered if African-Americans might have been "better off" as slaves, referring to them as "the Negro."
From The Times' Adam Nagourney:
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

Cliven sounds like a guy who has spent his life somewhat isolated. Some of his views are repugnant, but no more so than the babble on the left that I hear every day.
In no way do any of Cliven’s comments justify the Fed’s lawless actions. What sins did his cattle or property commit that called for their destruction? Bob
WTF? Why the hell is he bringing this up? Why is he giving the left ammunition? What an idiot.
Bundy was sunk the moment he let Adam Nagourney into his pickup truck. The NYT commie was sent the Nevada to trap Bundy into just this sort of statement. Mission Accomplished.
Better lesson: Don’t slurp up the sewage from Big Media.
Makes you wonder if people can isolate this land issue from their personal feelings toward bundy.
Should the man be destroyed based on this?
How is this thought process different than the IRS denying tax exempt status to conservative groups?
Slavery may be more suited for people who don’t make the best of their freedom. So, it could apply to anybody, any race.
Demonize the opposition using the race card.
So, If Bundy was to have made comments while speaking Spanish, would there be such an uproar when he said negro’ (black) in Spanish?
it’s almost as if ‘something’ happened to Bundy
his point is about the welfare nation created by the big givt progressives.
funny that the talking heads expect a rancher to be a political speaker.
About half the population is below average.
You understand this was from The Slimes? What was the question asked?

Remember when Business Insider did business news?
Forget it, Jake. It’s the New Yawk Slimes.
If a leftist professor were to say this, it would be considered an astute and culturally sensitive political statement on the status of the black family after emancipation, etc...
There is nothing racist about what he said until the newspaper tries to tell us there is.
RE: Remember when Business Insider did business news?
No, when?
even if he did say it, were blacks better off doing forced labor and raising intact families, or living in fatherless broken families, speaking a jargon worse than jive, and shooting/murdering each other on the streets of America like popcorn?
Oops I missed that, “interviewed by the NY Times’ which to me has about as much credibility as a bubblegum comic. Well he should sue their ass off.
