Texas Farmer Calls Police to Report a Break-In – When a Deputy Arrived Hours Later...

A third generation dairy farmer in Rains County, Texas, is mourning the loss of his best friend and work partner after a deputy shot his dog while responding to a report of a break-in at the residence.

The deputy claims the 2-year-old blue heeler, named Candy, charged him, threatening his safety. The dog’s owner, Cole Middleton, says police allowed him to review the dash cam footage of the incident — and he says that’s not what the video shows.

Middleton told KDFW-TV that he was on his tractor and Candy was in the bed of his truck when the deputy arrived on his property. The barking dog then jumped down and Middleton lost sight of her.

Moments later, the deputy delivered the heartbreaking news.

“The officer comes down and says, ‘Sir, I’m sorry, I shot your dog — she charged me,’” Middleton recalled in an emotional interview. “I became very hysterical and very upset…I said, ‘No, no, no…you shot my baby.’”

Because it’s slightly easier to get away with than shooting people... And because they can freely shoot any time they feel “threatened”.

cops kill dogs because cops are bullies with a badge and bullies are jello inside

don’t call the cops

cops are not your friend

don’t call the government for help

government is not your friend but your persecutor

“...The deputy involved is reportedly on administrative leave....”
*********************************************************************

Well, at least the valiant deputy made it home safely...and gets a paid vacation to boot. That’s the important thing.

My wife and I are appraisers, and have to deal with dogs daily. I have been bitten once in all the years, and wasn’t ‘charged’ by the dog. Dang dog just quietly walked up and clamped down. But dogs that are territorial, charge, a firm voice and standing your ground will routinely stop the dog. Cops just don’t know how to deal with dogs.

And if I go to the deputy’s house and shoot his dog under the exact same scenario, I will 100% get arrested and thrown in prison for at least 5 years.

Normal dog behavior is to run up barking at strangers. Its what they do. Yes, some dog’s will bite, but they give a much different presentation than your standard dart and bark dog.

They’ve learned they can kill dogs with impunity.

The amped up cops aren’t perceived by the dogs as being “friendly”, so the dogs bark.

There’s so much cop video of cops shooting dogs that ARE NOT A THREAT, that you would think that the Chief’s must endorse the practice.

My solution, take down the perps myself, lock up the dog, call the cops for clean up and paperwork.

I have three dogs that I love dearly. I can’t imagine what it would be like for someone to shoot them.

Why do so many cops kill dogs?

Why does a dog lick his b@ll$?

Same reason. Because he can.

Most biters do not bark.

A barking dog is a good dog giving you a warning and a chance to make a choice.

But who will he bully now? This must be frustrating for him.

Rains Co. Sheriff office phone number is 903-473-3181. The Deputy who shot a dog in the back of the head is named Jerred Dooley, badge #510.

I have a theory that police have orders to randomly kill family dogs as a way of desensitizing citizens to the coming police-state aggression. We are getting used to seeing military-style police with guns drawn and in use. Also, dogs are one of a citizen's first lines of defense. Added bonus, the butthole cops get to kill something with their guns.

Never call the cops unless there are too many witnesses. But have the area secured long before they get there. That means pets out of sight, locked in a room. That means weapons put away. The area well lit. When you call the cops just figure you are inviting an insecure, armed thug with a chip on his shoulder to come and show how large and in charge he is. So naturally you have to set a scene that would make a grade school girl feel safe. You want to secure the area, don’t leave it to them because that will involve threats, shouted commands, shooting your dog, and probably tasing or shooting family members. Not a joke, there is a very real, non-zero chance of those outcomes for even the simplest call.

This past winter I had to call local police regarding someone casing the house I was working at. The owner has two beautiful black labs that I have personally trained. I have no doubt they would obey my slightest command, but knowing cops...I kenneled them for their own safety. They have never bitten anyone...lick you to death...but not bite.

Many people own dogs as a deterrent. They may be pets and not trained guard dogs, but their bark is a deterrent. Like the one lab mentioned above, he has a bark that will scare most folks. When he barks his alarm bark...I pay attention. I have watched more than once a few people take a step back from him. Would a cop shoot him...potentially. Would it have been warranted based on body language? No. But... I could very realistically see it happening.

But are cops trained dog handlers? No, they are not. Handling the dog is the owners responsibility. A dog jumping out of a vehicle, pick-up bed etc. and warning barking could easily be perceived as a threat. As a dog handler, it would startle me, but then I’d simply “freeze and be the tree.” A dog in a vehicle I expect to stay in the vehicle. Nine times out of ten I’m there on a friendly basis, not responding to law enforcement issue.

I am really beginning to believe that the cops are not our friends.

The autopsy on the dog said he had his back turned to the cop when he was shot. No excuse for shooting the dog.
