A week after General Electric blamed Obamacare for hurting its medical business, the company's chairman on Wednesday warned that uncertainty in the health care field will persist for much longer.
I think that there's still a lot of uncertainty in health care and we'll just have to see that over time, warned Jeff Immelt during a shareholders' meeting in Chicago.
Last week, the firm released financial figures which showed a rise in profits, but a cut in its medical business. That was blamed on companies and hospitals holding back on purchases of GE equipment out of concern over how bad Obamacare will hit their profit margins.
Reuters reported that GE Chief Financial Officer Jeff Bornstein attributed the spending cuts to a "massive structural change" in the U.S. health care market caused by Obamacare.

Obama is old news, and this is the time of the election cycle where progressives (including ones in the MSM) can offer up some snarks so they can point to them as signs of their “objectivity”.
We need government to fix Obamacare, by going all the way, no compromise.
That means we need single payer healthcare now.
(do I really need a sarcasm tag)

The headline here is not exactly as the one at the link. At the link it says, “GE boss Jeff Immelt says Obamacare ‘uncertainty’ hurting medical business.”
Gee Jeff,I’m Cryin’ Some REAL Crocodile Tears!!!!!!!!!
Jeff Immelt? Isn’t he the douchebag that does the Captain Oblivious commercials for Hoes.com?
Not to impede that UConn Hartford is bad, but I thought I read that Jeff went to Harvard.
Harry Reid says Mr. Immelt is not telling the truth.
Everyone loves Obamacare unless you are racist or a tea party member or a racist tea party member.
Ole Jeffery needs to whipe his chin.
How much money did Jeff raise and spend for Obama and the communists?
From the very beginning, I thought he was making a big mistake backing Obama.
So did a lot of other folks (including Jack Welch).
My perspective is as a senior Wall St investment banker back in the 1980's...so I am like everyone. I am a nobody with a POV.
That said, like some folks, I make a living on my POV (as an investor). If I am wrong, I lose real money. Ergo, my money is where my mouth is.
Immelt bet wrong...but GE is still a great company.
In 1947 GE was tried and convicted of colluding with the Nazis before and durring WW II. See the GE-Krupp Conspiracy Trial of 47’ on Truthout.org. They have kept this burried for over 60 yrs. and the public should know this.
Worst Bailout In U.S. History: General Electric Gets $182.5 Billion In Obama Buddy Bailout: Project Calls For Jeffery Immelts Immediate Resignation.
The two cut and paste headlines for the articles above should be read by all intelligent Americans. General Electric has the worst corporate record in terms of “loyalty” to America of any company I’m aware of. Over recent decades, some openly have called for the company and certain exec’s to be tried for Treason yet they continue to slither along.
Jeffrey Immelt belongs in Leavenworth. When we say America has become an Oligarchy Jeffrey Immelt is one of the Oligarchs dancing on the head of the Treason pin.
Rooster, these guys know exactly who and what Obama is all about. There was no mistake. People sell their soul for many reasons and business/money is at the top.
Time to start buying shares of stock in private hospitals. This was a dog whistle for their impending exemption.
Too bad whiner. You and your buddy should be shot
Immelt thought he could make a bundle for GE shareholders by being a patsy. He might have been right...for a while.
If you have lived in this world, please share your credentials (vaguely if you prefer) so I can know to whom I am speaking.
I am not saying you are not correct, I just need to clarify what it is we know and how.
Immelt seemed to me to be a player only. With no love of the Free Market. Just a sellout.
Alan Mulally at Ford didn't play the same game as Immelt. And Mulally excelled at it.
Damn shame, but there it is.
Thanks for nothing Jeff. Go F yourself.
The consummate pitchman and useful idiot!
