Jeb Bush once again told a group he is thinking of running for president. The reason interest is high in an undeclared candidate with loud (if not numerous) opponents within the GOP is not hard to figure out. With each passing week it becomes more apparent that there is a gap in the GOP field, which Jeb or some other candidate needs to fill in order for the GOP to win the White House. That candidate may be among the group of governors who are considering a run, but we havent seen anyone step forward in commanding style to fill that role, which for lack of a better term we will call the center-right grown-up.
Such a candidate must be prepared and interested in national security. If that person is not already fully up to speed on the myriad of international challenges, the potential grownup should be hitting the books, talking to experts and traveling now. I will be blunt: If the person is too busy now, either because there is a reelection campaign looming or his or her day job takes too much time, it is unlikely the person will be able to get command of the facts, articulate reasoned views and be able to go toe-to-toe with Hillary Clinton. If you wait until the presidential announcement date to learn history and geopolitics it will be too late. If potential candidates think they are busy now, wait until a presidential campaign comes along. Running for president may be the hardest thing they will ever do, and time for gaining national security proficiency will be virtually nonexistent.

Let’s not give Rube-in (AKA - The Rube, AKA - Jennifer Durbin) more attention than she deserves. A contemptible little Rovian vulture.
Democrats love to pick our candidates for us, maybe, that’s why the lefties keep winning?
Bob Beckel is endorsing him too. I posted this on another thread:
Fox's Beckel: Jeb Bush Is Only Republican Who Can Win White House

The Obama Media is always willing to drop more important work to help republicans pick their candidates.
Okay, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Mike Lee, Rand Paul. I am sure we can come up with more. ANYONE BESIDES JEB BUSH!!!
We tried it the Rubin/Rino way with Dole, McCain and Romney.
It doesn’t work.
That should help Jeb win over the "Arrogant, Obnoxious, Fat, Liberal, Slob" demographic.
Wanted: A conservative columnist at the Washington Post.
(1) Every four years, we get the same media leftists, consultants, strategists, and other concern trolls telling the GOP who they should pick (i.e. "This is the guy that the Democrats fear the most, I tell ya!")
(2) Then the drumbeat grows for said candidate.
(3) Real conservative candidates are disparaged, and are told they have no chance of winning.
(4) Liberals cross over and vote for the RINO in the primaries. The RINO and the GOP establishment swears up and down that this is proof that only a moderate Republican can win.
(5) The RINO wins the nomination, as the liberal media swoons.
(6) Hit pieces start occurring. Subtly at first; then there's a huge onslaught by the leftist media and Dims.
(7) The RINO loses in the general, and "graciously" concedes defeat.
(8) Same leftist media/Dims/consultants/establishment hacks say the RINO went "too far to the right," and needs to be more moderate.
(9) GOP establishment takes notes, and the cycle repeats again.

CHARLESTON, SC - Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft and one of the richest people in the world, is spending time in the Lowcountry.
WCBD confirmed the American business magnate is at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.
Suspicion was raised when nearly 20 very expensive jets were seen lined up at the Charleston International Airport on Johns Island.
Officials with the Beach Company confirmed to WCBD that other big names such as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, TV host Oprah Winfrey and Billionaire Warren Buffet flew into the Charleston Executive airport on Johns Island Wednesday night.
Other prominent people said to also be staying there this weekend are Jeb Bush and Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The famous guests were attending a two day long conference led by Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Officials say the meeting was about the foundation Gates and his wife Linda run.
The meeting rented out the entire Sanctuary Hotel on the gated island. Security has been high throughout the entire week, keeping the public away from the hotel.
WCBD spoke to the Mayor of Kiawah by phone who said the town is happy to serve as host to the event.
We wish them luck with what theyre doing, Mayor Charles Lipuma said. If they want to play golf, they couldnt have picked a better weekend. We are glad we could offer them great weather.
Clearly, there is a growing sense of desperation among the GOP-e.
Jeb's big problem is his last name.
It's funny because someone like Beckel would NEVER vote for a Republican. He's just picking the most liberal Republican out there now that John McCain won't run again. But like I said, he would NEVER vote for him. Greg Gutfeld needs to find the most conservative democrat - one democrat don't like - and 'endorse' him.
Jeb has more problems than his last name.

Potential presidential contender Jeb Bush defended his “act of love” comments about illegal immigrants on Thursday while also saying he believes immigration laws must be enforced.
The former Florida governor came under fire from GOP conservatives this week for saying that people who had come to America illegally to provide a better life for their families “broke the law, but it’s not a felony, it’s an act of love.”
On Thursday night, he attempted to explain his controversial remarks during a speech in Connecticut at the annual Prescott Bush Award dinner named after his grandfather, according to Politico.
“This past weekend, I made some statements about immigration reform [that] generated a little more news than I anticipated,” the younger brother of former President George W. Bush told the 700 guests.
“You know, I’ve been saying this for the last three or four years. I said the exact same thing that I’ve said regularly. And the simple fact is, there is no conflict between enforcing our laws, believing in the rule of law and having some sensitivity to the immigrant experience, which is part of who we are as a country.”
If ever there was an indicator that you should sell your house and everything you own and give all the proceeds to whoever is running against Jeb, this is it.
“Wanted: A conservative columnist at the Washington Post”
would that be an Rubenesque?
Yeah, that act of love comment was pretty weird.
You forgot alcoholic and “John”.
A “grown up”? That’s funny coming from one spoiled little bi*ch.
