Ehud Yaari of Israels Channel 2 News reported on Tuesday night, that Egypt and Russia will be signing an unprecedented military agreement.
In this agreement between Cairo and Moscow, Egypt will receive 24 of Russias advanced Mikoyan MiG-35 fighter jets, along with military and strategic advisers, as well as training for the Egyptian Air Force.
The deal is worth $3 billion.
It follows in the footsteps of a $2 billion arms deal that Egypt signed with Russia in February, and was primarily funded by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The deal itself has been in the works since November, as JewishPress.com reported when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Cairo and Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and developed in response to decreased US military aid to Egypt.
This deal is a major setback to US policy and diplomacy in the Middle East, and is a direct slap in the face for U.S. President Obama.
In related news, the U.S. is sending 600 troops to Eastern Europe for an exercise, to try to reassure its NATO allies, following Russias actions in Ukraine.
Look south like KSA. Then again, I’m sure there are favorable terms with the trade deal on the table and under. Who knows what goes on in backrooms too. Either way, there appears to be a shift away from the US.
They dont want anymore US/Muslim Brotherhood knives in the back.
I hope they paid Obama a handsome fee for arranging the sale.
Yeah, Obama’s meddling, you know, what he promised when he took office that he wasn’t going to do, has backfired everywhere he meddles.
Obama admin is good at ripping up things, with no plan worth a hoot, to fix up what he rips up.
Obama's in Washington state while Biden's in Ukraine. I thought one of them was always supposed to be in DC, running things.
“How will Egypt pay for the Russian Migs?”
I think that the Russians have learned how the game works. You lend money to the country to buy their weapons from you. It makes the weapons you buy less expensive and it keeps multiple assembly lines open at a manageable cost.
Interesting take on the fallout.
Can’t blame them considering bathhouse barry and his moslem brother hoodlums actions. barry still has Libya and the heart eating rebels in Syria on his side.
Let’s predict which country is next. Wake me up when it’s Canada.
“slap in the face” goes along with putinsdickuphisass....

*************
Shhhhhhhh! (don’t ruin a good thing!)
They can’t afford to buy food but they somehow can scrape up $billions for stuff that blows up.
Disgusting.
If not with US loans, then with Russian loans. It's Putin's investment in the MidEast.
Besides, the West seems happy to loan Ukraine money to pay Russia for gas... sanctity of funds doesn't seem to apply in politics.
And to really make them feel better, the President's Elite Guard :
I just don’t understand it. My liberal relatives explained to me how the rest of the world hated us and assured me that electing obama would make the world love us. I’m confused. I get that way when I talk to idiots.
The Egyptians don’t have any money.
These planes won’t leave the ground but once a year. So that their pilots will remember how to take off and land for air shows.
This is such a waste of money and time. Pity the Egyptians.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

You want to buy a Starbucks. You want to buy MIGs, you go to Russia. You want a reliable source of parts and training, I guess Egypt prefers Russia. It's not as though they don't have a long history as a Soviet, now Russian, ally.
Are they going to give back the F-16s that Obama “gifted” them in 2012?
