Huge difference. If saints are performing miracles that’s a false idol if you think it’s real. Praying to anyone other than God through Christ isn’t exactly “kosher”.
Hmmm...so you’re praying for a saint to pray for you. That makes a lot of sense. I take it you don’t like to buy anything direct...you prefer it to be handled by multiple people and then you’ll buy it?
Seriously why not just pray to God directly? Is he not powerful enough to hear you or discern your request? Or does it need a little saint spin on it to make it reality?
Hmmmm...Or the church just effectively started covering it up in 1981.
“The saint prayed”
What proof can you provide that:
1. The saint heard the prayer?
2. The saint prayed?
3. God acted because of the saint’s supposed prayer and not for a different reason?
In the end, it is simply without proof of those three things... but a committee votes anyway.
Christ works miracles through a number of vehicles. A person is such a vehicle. Who are we to judge who IS and who IS NOT a vessel for a miracle?
The bottom line is that Christ allows the miracle, be it from a shepherd’s hand or that of a doctor.
What protestant church have you been in that didn’t ask for prayer from others when someone was in need ?
Canonized? Must be in some version of the Bible I don’t have. Sounds painful, but isn’t he already dead?
Nothing like a saint to make the heathen rage.
Huh? That’s apples and oranges. A more accurate question would be what church have you been to that asks you to pray to ghosts and demons for stuff.
Winner Winner chicken dinner.
I hear the Egyptian Pharaohs had a similar process since they too were gods among men. ;-)
“Nothing like a saint to make the heathen rage.”
I love all saints (not just the fake canonized ones) - just as we are commanded to love them - meaning every single believer in Christ.
As to departed saints hearing, praying, etc., I will await the proof in this discussion :-)
So where do these ghosts/saints come to earth from? What version of the Bible is that in? So I can come back to earth and do miracles? But then there’s already a Saint Michael I bet. What happens when there are two gods/saints with the same name? Which one hears your prayer and then tells God—I guess because God can’t hear your request directly.
Joke:
Why are so many Catholics liberal democrats? Because they can’t think for themselves.
I go to the Source. Otherwise, I’m reminded of the parlor game, “Rumors.” What one first hears is not necessarily what the end result is.
Therefore, the best intercessor between me and My Lord is ME!
WHAT??? What are you drinking or smoking? Go back and read my post again. You are MISSING something vital!
And it would appear to me that you are rather antagonistic in your queries.
Ignorance can be cured. Stupidity should hurt.
Think about your ramblings and rephrase the query, please.
Still waiting for your demonstration of evidence:

I’m betting you cannot find any evidence of your truth claim.
Ah but you must first go back and read what I posted prior and you’ll see I was clearly talking about these canonized ghostly spirits called saints.
I do not recall the Bible saying for us to pray through dead people or other saints. I could be wrong...if so please show me. Keep it to KJV or NIV to keep the same level playing field.
I’m not going to “show you” anything, since I never said the Bible told us to “pray though saints.” You’re looking for an argument that isn’t there with me.
I use nothing but the KJV, though I have at least five other versions, so don’t try and get cutesy with me. It isn’t going to fly.
Crimes can't be proven either.
FYI: My original response was to #2...I don’t think you posted that...but correct me if I’m wrong.
