Its easy to get discouraged if you believe in small government and individual liberty.
It seems that the burden of the public sector is always expanding and that politicians and bureaucrats are always figuring out new ways to restrict our freedoms.
But lets not lose hope.
We still have a lot of economic liberty, particularly if you count non-fiscal policy factors.
And we still have the Second Amendment.
Heck, we dont just have the right to keep and bear arms, we exercise that right in massive numbers.
Take a look at this impressive graphic. Were #1 in some bad ways, but it seems were also #1 in a very good way.
Make sure to share this graphic with your statist friends and colleagues. Its guaranteed to put them in a glum mood for the rest of the day!
And when you share this with your misguided acquaintances, ask them why guns dont cause murder in nations such as Switzerland and Finland. Maybe youll have a breakthrough and theyll confess that gun control isnt the solution.
Incidentally, in addition to having lots of guns in America, we also are quite ready to defy the government if politicians try to take them away.
Whats happening in Connecticut is merely one example of this wonderful form of civil disobedience.
Since were on the topic of gun ownership vs. gun control, heres another image that will cause heartburn for your leftist friends.
Same theme as the 4th image in this post.
And lets not forget the best-ever poster on gun control.
Last but not least, heres a poster sent to me by the PotL.
Its the same message found at the top of this post and at the bottom of this post.
If you want more info both serious and humorous on gun control, click here.
“LIBeral friends”...what’s that?
I wouldn’t share that graphic with anyone. It’s not clear.
Is the statistic per capita or is it the percentage of citizens who own a gun (many own more than one). If it is number of guns per capita you can’t say “gun ownership” rate.
They need to make that more clear.
Also, where is Switzerland? I understand they have a higher gun ownership rate than the USA.
I know a place where ALL guns are outlawed, in fact ALL weapons are outlawed. Only the police force has guns. There are cameras and guards everywhere just to insure things stay safe.
It's called prison - want to go there?
Since all the weapons are outlawed, there must be no robberies, rapes or murders there. In fact, it must be the safest place on earth - because as you are so certain of - it's not the criminals it's the guns!
I don’t have any. At work I only discuss strictly business with any co-worker that shows any lib or libertarian tendencies. I avoid all conversations and do not attend any company events.
Switzerland is in the second row, left column.
That said, I don’t get the message of the graphic either.
Actual ownership of guns is much less than 88% in the U.S. because there are MANY gun owners who own much more than one gun per family member.
Friends from that town in Kansas?
I decided several years ago that LIBs/DIMs weren’t worth the time of day. That goes for family members who are mentally ill LIBs also. I am aware of their ludicrous positions and use of illogic. I don’t want top expose my self to their lunacy. They are beyond hope.
I believe that all Swiss males have to be in the army and have to keep their weapon at their home.
Right, this looks like guns per capita, not rate of gun ownership.
Liberals = PARASITES
are draining the resources that conservative values and capitalism built.... useless bunch of libtards...
Yeah...that’s guns per capita, with an almost certainly understated number of guns.
They subtracted the ones lost in boating accident the past few years.
no graphics or facts will convince anti-gunners they’re wrong.
I'd say the actual numbers are way up, and that self-reported numbers are down since 2008. This graphic shows a decline in ownership overall in both individuals and households from 2008 to 2010. Given what we know and have seen since then, I'd say these graphs are bunk. Especially since they come from the VPC.
