I think it’s pretty clear that some pretty embarrassing stuff was about to come out…..which considering how shameless these thugs are, is astonishing.

I think I heard that if there is an election for the union to represent and you lose, you can’t try again for a year. If you withdraw, you can try again in 90 days.???

“if there is an election for the union to represent and you lose, you can’t try again for a year.”

THat’s the way it is here in Fla. Don’t know, maybe that’s some kind of federal law?

Yes, but that doesn’t mean unions cannot exist….it means union membership cannot be forced on anyone.

[Isn’t Tennessee a right to work state ?]

Yes, but “Right to Work” doesn’t ban unions it bans closed shops where employees are forced to pay union dues as a condition of employment. The GM/Saturn plant in Spring Hill is unionized. The difference between it and plants in some northern states is that employees do not have to join the union or pay dues.

I guess what I was thinking is, even if the UAW “organized” the VW plant, state law would prevent the union from forcing every worker to join and pay dues.

When the Auto Workers took their first shot at VW, I wondered if it was a worthwhile move...

Next week the NLRB will unilaterally declare the plant unionized.

Ubama didn't pack the NLRB with Communists for nothing.

VW management was being held hostage by their German unions at HQ…..not defending them, just explaining their poor behavior. Obviously VW didn’t want a union, or they wouldn’t have built the dadgum thing in TN to begin with .

But what does that have to do with dropping the complaint to the NLRB to force a re-vote?

Or did I miss something in the story?

That was exactly my first thought. Wonder if Harry Reid had anything to do with this?

actually, the real danger is not from the private sector unions but rather from the public sector unions.
