This first lady has been the weakest and most trivial in a half-century, no substance, and not even any flash — a Shelly O, maybe, but no Jackie O. One reason: She’s not all that likeable. She polls OK, but c’mon, who’d want to hang out with her? She just doesn’t seem fun, often has on that “I’m-Not-Amused” face. Something about her makes you think: Boy, she’s angry about something.
Remember that glare she gave the French first lady? How about that body language when hubby Barack was taking that selfie at the Nelson Mandela funeral (well, maybe she had a point).
And then there’s the 2008 campaign, when she said: “For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country.” And her Princeton dissertation, when she lamented her future in a “white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society, never becoming a full participant.”
Really? A black man is president — and he’s your husband! No, racism isn’t dead, and will never be in those backwood pockets of the South, but please, we’re well past the Jim Crow days, and someone — maybe even you, Shelly O — ought to be celebrating where America has finally arrived.
But Mrs. Obama has never been fully satisfied with America’s treatment of her. For some reason, she continues to harbor bitterness, and that comes through in nearly everything shes does. You gotta wonder when the president decides to head to Oso, Wash., as he is next week. Just need to get away? Cuz, what’s in Oso, Wash., that draws the president? Oh, an overnight. Gotcha.

Bigotry comes in all forms. Assuming people are racist because they live in the South is a good example.
I sometimes cut the woman some slack because of who she’s married to. But then there are times she gets up on her high horse to lecture with no moral authority.

I am assuming this idiot is a northerner. They feel superior when they accuse southerners of racism and they pretend there is no racism in the north and no racism in the black community.
The poor Blacks of the South should be relocated to the northeast…say Manhattan and New Haven. It’s only fair.

They want it both ways... They want to perpetually slam the country and American society, yet simultaneously to exemplify shining examples of what current and ongoing improvements in race relations have accomplished for minorities everywhere in this country!!

This lie has been institutionalized and is by now an incessant hum throughout all of American culture... and I am sick to death of it!
The lie has disfigured the American national character and has corrupted society! Millions of American citizens have volutarily detached themselves from the social and cultural mainstream in this country, JUST to tune it OUT!
I truly pity the next Republican First Lady whoever she may be. No matter what she does or doesn’t do the Democrats are going to rip her to shreds.

Big problem...one not help by Jesse and Al and the Obamas.
Age- and sex-standardized rates [of hospitalization for hypertension] confirmed that blacks had higher rates than whites (Figure). For example, in 2007–2010, whites had a rate of 97.4 per 100,000 population; blacks had a rate of 334.2 per 100,000 population — more than 3 times the rate for whites. Neither racial group showed a significant linear trend over the 5 periods.
