People who never use drugs will find ingesting it is toxic and can produce hallucinations in some people

“Since when is it a good decision to get high? The only reason to use dope is to get high. It is like drinking until you are drunk.....stupid decisions”

It’s not a good idea. But, unfortunately, I personally know many more who are making this same decision, “Oh, hey, it’s legal now, it might be fun to try, etc.” And almost NONE of these peoppler have ever done pot before, or if they did, it was like a million years ago when they were kids and all most people could get then was Mexican brick weed, and they have no idea that what’s being sold now is a 100 times more potent. That’s one of the big problems of having the imprimir of legality.

And then there’s the little issue of quality-control of this “legal” but unregulated substance. Like, “Here, take of these, it’s the right amount”, but there’s a little problem in the mixer at the pot factory and the candy is 100 times more potent than claimed. Like if you buy a cordial labeled 15 proof and its really 190 proof.

"You mean criminals like people who drink?",/i>

If they drink to excess, yes. If they drink and drive yes. They've checked personal responsibility at the door and put everyone at risk.

“Marijuana is not a stimulant like cocaine or other drugs, in fact it has the opposite effect.”

Ever wonder what it would feel like to ingest a whole ounce of Kush all at once? Would not be pleasant. Would definitely induce psychosis. And that’s the big problem with these super-potent, poorly controlled potency edibles.

It’s not like you take a hit and go, “WOOOOOEEEEEE, that’s enough for me, this stuff is too killer.” Nope, you swallow it and then you’re screwed if it’s 100 times what you thought it was going to be. Basically, your classical OD situation.

These edibles are not your father’s Brick Weed.

If you ban it, ban all of it (that includes alcohol). I bet 60-70% of the crimes I prosecuted had alcohol involved in some manner.

Both pot and alcohol should be legal (if a State wants it). Period.

“People who never use drugs will find ingesting it is toxic and can produce hallucinations in some people”

Especially if it’s 100 times more potent than they were expecting because of poor quality control or misrepresentation.

These edibles are really bad news and will be causing many, many more deaths before the state steps in and bans them, or regulates the quality-control and mandates maximum potency.

Basically, it’s the wild west here in Colorado right now and there’s no law that actually prohibits manufacturing lethal doses.

I can only assume the next time a guy gets drunk and shoots his wife you are going to be pulling for the return of prohibition, citing the lack of a medical need for whiskey.

Wait . . . Cannabis causes acute paranoia? There is no way the state legislators could have possibly seen that coming.

That being said, the guy wanted to get stoned. He was dumb enough to believe the pothead hype.

“The article states that his wife said he may have taken pain pills as well. I wonder if the drugs interacted?”

Speaking of “legal dope”...

What is this "marijuana edibles" I keep hearing about? I thought marijuana was something you smoked in a pipe or hand-rolled cigarette? Now I hear they are putting marijuana in Cadbury cream eggs, Snicker bars and even brownies!

Is this for real or an Onion put-on?

As opposed to using it as a suppository?

It’s OK...
The cause of “liberalism” was served by getting a bunch of low-info dupes to the pole to vote Democrat.

What are a few murders, and driving deaths, compared to the greater glory of electing Democrats?

Remember, kiddies. There are going to be several pot referendums on the ballot in November, in states like Florida, that we need to win, to retake Congress.

Well, I have to wonder what other psych drugs this man may have been on...

People think pot is so damn harmless that the idea of ANY drug interactions escapes them...

[ This is DEFINITELY a”get Out Of Jail”Card!! ]

You have to wonder if he bought the pot as a “chemical alibi”....

Act crazy, kill wife then take pot, claim the first memory is seeing police shine lights in face..

The problem is the FOUR to SIX times higher dose of THC in the edibles than what it “should” be. This should be regulated. You can’t sell beer with 20% alcohol.

It’s a shame you know many stupid people. If making something legal is what makes up their minds, they’re jackasses.

"Kristine A. Kirk called 911 at 9:31 p.m. Monday to report that her husband was ranting about the end of the world, hallucinating and urging her to shoot him, according to a search-warrant affidavit."

This has been portrayed on some news programs as being about domestic violence. While it ended up being about domestic violence, it didn't start that way. The information given at 9:31 p.m. was that her husband was ranting about the end of the world, he was hallucinating, and he wanted her to shoot him. So, should the police have arrived sooner? Of course. While we don't see information here that the dispatcher was told that there WAS gun in the house, it has to be assumed. Add the information about him hallucinating and a reasonable conclusion is that the husband is a danger to himself and others.
