Reid Statement on Nevada’s March Employment Report

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today on Nevada’s March employment report. According to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation, the Nevada economy added 5,100 of jobs.

“Each and every month we continue to see encouraging job growth in Nevada and across the nation. Over 5,000  jobs were added to the Nevada economy in March, and this is encouraging news.  Despite the improvement, too many in the Silver State continue to suffer. But Democrats are passing solutions and we hope Republicans will join us.

“The Senate recently passed a bipartisan bill to renew unemployment benefits, but so far Speaker Boehner and Congressional Republicans have refused to vote on it or any common-sense bills that help the middle class and working families. Rather than supporting the Democrats’ efforts to renew unemployment insurance, raise the minimum wage, and ensure equal pay for women, Republicans in Congress seem to be much more interested in standing up for two of the world’s wealthiest billionaires and their radical agenda. The American people elected us to fight for their interests, and I hope my Republican colleagues will join Democrats in fulfilling our duty to them.”

harry has spent billions of tax dollars on "Green Energy" jobs in Nevada and Nevada's unemployment rate is 8.5%,second worst in the Nation.
