Terri Lynn Land maintains lead in poll for Carl Levin’s Senate seat (6 points!)

Terri Lynn Land continues to enjoy a six point lead in the race for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Democrat Carl Levin. This is according to a poll conducted on April 9 and distributed this morning by Mitchell Research and Communications with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.56%.

When asked if the election were being held today would you be voting for Republican Terri Lynn Land or Democrat Gary peters 44% responded Land while 38% answered Peters. A total of 18% were undecided.

Both Land and Peters seem to be attending to keep the campaign positive with Plan focusing on her healthcare vision while Peters is focusing on middle-class values. At the same time national committees led by Senate majority leader Harry Reid and the Koch brothers are spending millions on negative advertising.

"Terri has all the momentum in the race because Michigan families trust her as a mom and small business owner to bring their values to Washington, D.C.," said Heather Swift, spokeswoman for Terri Lynn Land. “While Terri lays out a clear vision for a stronger economy with more jobs and more opportunity, Gary Peters' only idea is to distract Michigan voters from his long record of higher taxes, higher spending and support for Obamacare."

Another bit of evidence that 2014 will be a blow-out election for the GOP. But, who knows, leave it to the “stupid party” to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Prayers that we will be saved from Harry Reid and the DEMON RATS of the US Senate.

Note that a DEMON RAT is how Democrat is spelled if you change the /C/ to an /N/ and make it into two words...

I consider John McCain to be DEMON RAT...

And, on the other side of the coin, there are Democrats that I do not consider Demonic. There are Republicans who are just as Demonic...

Well, can’t agree with you.. a 6 point lead with 18% of the electorate undecided doesn’t indicate this race is a sure bet for the GOP.

I completely agree NOV will be a blow out for Republicans, but don’t read this poll as proof of it for this district.

Yes, encouraging the R is in the lead for a position previously held by a dem, but 18 Percent undecided , means that 3 times the number of people polled haven’t made up their mind yet than the delta between the R & D.

That’s a lot of undecideds to write this particular race as over.

“I can’t believe we could win Michigan.”

Why not? The Demoncraps hold exactly zero control in state offices.

Michigan is now a RTW state and it’s gun laws are more pro-gun than Texas!

To me that is reclamation of a seat. Of course it isnt the seat lost by Spence Abraham, but its a reclamation no less.

Right. Especially when the scores of thousands of dead and missing in Wayne and Genesee Counties will suddenly rise again and vote 100% for Peters (the Democrat).

That's really odd it happens like that. It's almost like some UAW thugs are in the polling places after the polls have closed and are checking the rosters and pulling the levers before the count is sent in. But we know that can't happen, right...?

In the last 2 elections I don’t believe the democrats have taken any new seats in Michigan above the county level.

100% of voters turning out, to salvage a dem seat, would be low voter turnout. I’ll breathe a little easier if TLL makes it to +9 with a 4% margin.

Levin was preceded by a Republican, Robert Griffin, whom he defeated in 1978. So it would be a reclamation of a seat, after a long tine.

The only Senate seat the GOP has NEVER held is the Hawaii seat that’s up this year. We had the other seat at the beginning of the state’s history.

In addition 2 other seats have never popularly elected a Republican and were last GOP held prior to popular election of Senators. They are Landrieu’s seat in Louisiana, that was last GOP held in the early 1880’s and appointed rat Senator Walsh’s seat in Montana that was last GOP held 1907-13. We should take both this year.

s up this year. We had the other seat at the beginning of the state

This is great news. I still worry about a gaffe by Land, but she hasn’t made a serious one yet. She’s proven to be surprisingly steady. If she wins, it’s hard to see ‘Rats holding the Senate.
