LAS VEGAS -- A deal has been reached between Bundy family leaders and the BLM, but not without some very tense moments.
Armed Bundy family leaders met with BLM officers Saturday afternoon in Mesquite to discuss the fate of the Bundy's cattle that the feds removed from BLM land, over the past week. The cattle are being held at a holding area in Mesquite.
Prior to the meeting, hundreds of protesters, some armed, tried storming the BLM's cattle gate, but weren't successful. The crowd was urged to wait 30 minutes and give both sides a chance to talk. An agreement was reached that the cattle will be released to the Bundy family later Saturday.
At one point, I-15 was closed in both directions, about seven miles south of Mesquite, because protesters had blocked the freeway. Nearly two dozen police officers and a SWAT unit were at the scene to keep the peace and assist the BLM enforcement officers to safely leave the area.
Protesters have been gathering all week in support of rancher Cliven Bundy, who has been locked in a legal battle for the past 20 years over grazing rights with the federal government

lol — both mistaken, the word is “serf.”
“While I agree with you to an extent, parents need to start making sure that their children are taught the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.”
Perhaps reading the text of the Constitution and learning about the historic Government conditions of its creation would do the trick.
The founders may not have all agreed upon exactly what it is they agreed upon in that constitution but they certainly didn’t agree with what we now have in its place.
A government created with the limits defined in an 11 page document doesn’t control education, energy, agriculture, nor an alphabet of other domestic matters no where mentioned in that document.
That’s one of the reasons Bundy (per his daughter) stopped paying them.
If seen as an easement (although I believe it was actually a license) the dominant owners (fedzilla) were obligated to put some of that `grazing fee’ money back into maintaining the property, roads, firebreaks, chopping scrub, etc.
So the `easement’ was surcharged by the `owners’. (Actually, *we* are the owners; the feds are an artificial construct created by 13 states. And some of them had grave doubts at the time. Go figger.) Usually you see the servient user doing that: all Bundy was doing was what his father and his before him did—raising beeves.
But the BLM didn’t do jack, they just took the money.
Of course that’s what the feds do: they sit back and expect our checks to clear. If their primary job is securing the people from invasion, they sure as hell aren’t using it down on the border!
hey, pull my sting again, I’m winding dow....
“Wait, are you telling me the BLM has its own army?”
For sure. The BLM has 10,000 employees. That’s about one division or 5 battalions. The problem with the BLM is this: If you were a general, would you want to go into battle with fat couch potatoes and doughnut munchers who care only about their pensions?

I was ten days and two thousand miles away, but I really expected it to last that long.
I have a small ranch about 150 miles from the Bundy’s ... I expect problems from these BLM aholes any time now
Last week the BLM/FEDS were claiming the US Govt owned the public lands being grazed on, but in their BLM website Statement of ending operation it says the American People own the land....interesting.
Is it a concession of truth, or a ploy wherein they vilify Bundy because he is not paying the grazing fee like 16000 other ranchers.
Of course, Reid/China Solar not mentioned. The water rights are not mentioned either. The tortoise is now forgotten, and it seems that the letter is telling the America people that Bundy just won’t pay his grazing fees to the taxpayers.
Employees = an army? For some reason, THAT just scares the frack outta me!
“For some reason, THAT just scares the frack outta me!”
Trust in your fellow armed compatriots and the Lord, and that will guide you through difficult situations.
Semper fi, blu.
The "I have a pen, and I have a Phone" clause.
“It’s “serf”.”
See my replies number 47 and 51 in this thread.
The BLM can just take it off his bill for the accumulated public-land grazing charges that Bundy has refused to pay for two decades and every other rancher grazing cattle on public lands has had to pay.
138 plus 2 bulls shot.
“You meant serf, right?”
No, I meant cerf. I’m an idiot.

If you’re an idiot it is “cerf”.

Wrong government rules and fees need to be confronted. He was the last standing rancher after others succumbed to the costly fees.
Fight bad law.
Bet you won’t see any animal rights kooks mourning them.
Thanks, Sgt! However, I trust in myself and my handy dandy friends Smith & Wesson also! (those of them that weren’t lost in that tragic boating accident, of course). I don’t think it would be fair to ask others to defend me when I won’t defend myself.
But you can have my 6 anytime!
