The Bureau of Land Management announced Saturday that it has concluded its mission to remove illegal cattle from a rural Nevada range after a tense week-long standoff with a rancher and militia supporters.
"Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public," the statement read.
Bureau officials had dismantled designated protest areas supporting rancher Cliven Bundy, who they say refuses to comply with the "same laws that 16,000 public land ranchers do every year."
"After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially," the statement said. "We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner."
A group of about 1,000 supporting Bundy cheered and sang "The Star Spangled Banner" when BLM made its announcement.

Speaking as a former Prosecutor, trust me ... they did NOT blink. They just don’t want anyone to die and the “weapons” at their disposal are massive. Trust me. People have NO idea how powerful the Government (even the State government for which I worked) can be and is. The rancher stands zero chance in this battle.
While I’ve made my position on this issue clear, this is just informational and taking no position in this post.

Does this mean that they are ending the siege for now or are they just moving on to a new phase?
Some guy reporting from the Bundy ranch said that there are more like 1000 people involved in this round up and they are driving DHS vehicles with just the word ranger on them.
I don’t think this is over. Its starting to look like the bad guys are not leaving and now they have Las Vegas SWAT out there.
The tortoises thrived with the cattle grazing. They love the bovine scat. The digestive system of cattle is not super efficient, so there is a lot of nourishment left laying there on the ground. Removing the cattle will be very bad for the tortoise population, and the government is counting on the ignorance of most city people who think less cattle equals more tortoises.
Also, it's not been widely reported the government is slaughtering hundreds of Desert Tortoises because of the shutdown of a preserve.
They will return to a phase where they can win
They will go "Judge shopping" , and this issue will go back into the courts
where they will wear you down , and leave you penniless.
The FED has unlimited financial reosurces
and Harry and the Chinese have a program to run ,..
regardless of the consequences and who gets hurt !
It will just be done .. "legally ".

All of the live feed has been cut to the area and some reports are coming through on cell phones. Apparently the crowd of about 1000 and 100 cowboys has gotten down to the cow pens. The Feds are hiding behind their vehicles threatening to shoot people. Now they have agreed to release 100 cows.
A couple of minutes ago there were facebook comments from people on the scene that said shots have been fired.
Supposedly about 100 local law enforcement has arrived.

Probably no tortoises died from anything other than natural causes , or disease.
The facts are irrelevent when in conflict with Liberal Agenda.

I just saw live feed and the cattle are being herded back onto the grazing area. 130 died from being chased in the heat.
And whose side are the 100 LOCAL law enforcement on?
