Many Americans have been watching with great consternation the ongoing struggle between the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Marshals against Cliven Bundy and his family. There are no signs of either side relinquishing their position. Many onlookers have been informed that this dispute is over protecting the desert tortoise. But it is nothing of the sort. In fact, the reality of the dispute goes far underneath what is being talked about. The more appropriate source of the dispute is ground water as well as surface water -- this is a war over water.

When I was in college last there was a book that haunted me. So much so it still comes to mind when I hear about all these new water grabs by the government. The text has chapters on historic and recent case studies. Whoever controls the water controls everything - everything.
I had to go to Amazon to find the name again. And there the description on the book should make anyone take notice:
“The fluidity of transboundary waters perfectly represents contemporary challenges to modern governance. This book offers conceptual and empirical support for the idea that the human relationship with water must move beyond rationalist definitions of water as product, property, and commodity. “
That alone tells you everything about it.
If interested, this is it: Reflections on Water: New Approaches to Transboundary Conflicts and Cooperation (American and Comparative Environmental Policy) -by Joachim Blatter (Editor), Helen Ingram (Editor)
This was the lone text book for a full semester in a graduate school on public administration. So a lot of time was spent on this. Probably meant to ‘nudge’ our minds to globalization of government. Especially since a reoccurring theme in many classes was about the need for ‘efficiency of services’ by merging of governments.
Will this incident become Obama’s “Kent State”? Obamacare tazed a lot of people when it caused their health insurance to be canceled. We have already seen a few cancer patients die prematurely due to lapse in medical care. Millions have had their premiums go up. Is that not a form of bureaucratic “tazing”? It was only a matter of time before the tazing was done out in the open by the hired thugs of the bureaucrats, who were “just doing their job”.
Fantastic movie...I grudgingly admit that Redford is an amazing director! Just like Sean Penn is a great actor. They just can’t keep their mouths shut and do their jobs!
Waiting for Obama to pull off what Reagan did to the Air Traffic Controllers to show the Russians what he’s capable of. This time he will use Waco tactics.
Bingo. In a word, extortion. The commies have strategically targeted natural resources ( a pillar of any economy ) such as oil, gas, coal, rare metals...and now water and carbon. This has to be part of the conservative agenda; to reign in the EPA and especially the Endangered Species Act.
Don’t go there Buddy!
Bank on it.
However, I don’t foresee their plan working out like they think it will.

Milagro Beanfield War got terrible reviews... But I believe the critics didn’t have the proper cultural sensibilities to appreciate it.
Maybe “director” was a misprint,& it should have said “dictator”..??

The bird that the EPA is using to shut down oil and gas drilling in five western states is only on the threatened list, not endangered. The anti Oil and gas greens have been trying to do this for years and finally found some sympathetic decision maker to help them

This is not new. The Feds have been trying to take ranchers water rights all over the West. The water rights are tied directly to the grazing rights. In some counties the Sheriff’s have stopped it. Sadly Mr. Bundy lives in the Democratic Socialist county of Clark, NV.
The plan is to get the cattle off the range, drive the price of beef up so high no one can afford it. They want to eliminate beef and pork if possible. No more cow farts destroying the atmosphere. Its all about green.
“Its all about green”
I disagree, though I think you do realize that “green” is just the latest color of paint employed by the current power hungry psychopaths calling the shots. This ultimately is about water. Currency would more appropriately be based on water than any other substance, if it is to be relative to anything other than man’s labor. Think about it: what can be done in life without water? He who controls the water makes the decisions on the existence of communities and even cities, can control who can raise livestock or grow food, and which industries have access to needed water for the production of energy to widgets.
Those in power have not yet been challenged in the way Bundy and those who are standing there with him are doing. It has been business as usual for the tyrants running the FedGov, in conjunction with the Nature Conservancy and Soros entities buying up water rights, and those not up for sale become targets of the Center for Biological Diversity to find a “green” victim so a FedGov agency can flat out STEAL the water in the name of the current ‘paint’ color of the day. Tyranny will always be Tyranny, and unless a populace will forego their comforts and stand up against such, evil wins.
Just my two cents.
Yes, Green is Agenda 21 a UN initiative to basically establish a worldwide totalitarian dictatorship.
We have allowed the Federal govt to be taken over by the Progressive/Communist movement and become too large and too powerful. Now we will have to pay the price by taking control. Its never fun when you let things go too far.
This is all part of the massive political organizing by the Democrats to win back the Democrat base before the November election and further divide the country along ideological lines, distracting from the Obamacare debacle.
