An intense showdown in the state of Nevada between a family of ranchers and federal agents continues to escalate after a longstanding land dispute two decades in the making came to a head earlier this month.
As RT reported earlier this week, hundreds of armed agents with the United States Bureau of Land Management and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have descended on the Clark County, Nevada ranch of 67-year-old Cliven Bundy to execute the court-ordered confiscation of nearly 1,000 cattle, according to his family, which the US government says have trespassed on federal property.
The Washington Free Beacon newspaper reported on Monday this week that 234 of the 908 cattle had been wrangled up by government agents and their contractors, and news of the dispute has since further propelled the story into the national spotlight.
According to a notice posted by the Federal Aviation Administration a no-fly zone was enacted for a 3-square-mile area around the site of the Bundy's ranch. That advisory would remain in effect from April 11 until May 11.
Local cowboys have retrieved some of the confiscated cattle according to several reports, and supporters of the Bundy ranch from around the region have flocked to Nevada to stand by their side.
Since the Beacon first reported on the standoff earlier the week, tensions have only worsened in Clark County. Video emerged online on Wednesday of the ranchers son, Ammon Bundy, bloodied after being shocked by an electric Taser used by authorities, and Desert News reported that, according to Cliven Bundy, his own sister was knocked to the ground by officials moments before cameras began to roll.
One witness, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, told reporters that Serious bloodshed was narrowly avoided as a pregnant woman was also roughed up during the ordeal.

Just Obama's minion protecting the sacred symbol of their Emperor!
First, it will certainly result in buildings burning in DC if this gets too out of hand and second, as for Americans being wimps, we’re slow to anger, it’s a part of our Christian heritage.
All this ‘action’ over 1000 head of cattle and a million dollars in grazing fees paid to the state, instead of the federal government?
People need to keep this all in perspective.
Any act that refuses the payment of TAXes/FEE will result in your death. The government will kill you if you do not pay-up and confiscate your livelihood.
Just consider when one posts about ‘starving the beast’ etc. the consequences the government will extract against you.
It’s not principle, he just shouldn’t be treated that way. I don’t know the merits of his case. Whether it’s gone to court or not. If not, then he’s on the wrong side, but still shouldn’t be treated that way.
Did it go to Scotus? If so, he didn’t exhaust his legal recourse. Did he try for a stay? Or did he just ignore them.
From the NOTAM: No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM (except as described). ONLY RELIEF AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS UNDER DIRECTION OF BLM ARE AUTHORIZED IN THE AIRSPACE
Yeah and those were back in a more gentle time in terms of police states....these days it seems almost a given that this will end badly.
Civilian operated drones would also be useful in the area to document what the fedgov is doing.
Any invaders from a foreign country trespassing on “federal property” on their way to stealing citizenship and federal rights and federal welfarefrom Americans?
One angle that can be played up is an announcement that patriotic Americans certainly agree with Eric Holder’s statement that state AG’s should not enforce whatever laws they don’t believe in. It follows that individual Patriotic Americans also reserve that right not to follow and support what ever unjust laws Holder, the EPA, BLM, BATF, ect happen to support!
If the US’s top law enforcement lawyer advocates selective lawlessness, so should the American people!
PS: I’m not really advocating total anarchy...just trying to point out Holder’s increasingly indefensible positions.
“Hilarity ensues”
“Hillary”-arity stands in the shadows I fear...
And I’ll bet some Russians are thinking, “I never thought of that.”...
Only in Amerika.
One aspect no one is writing about: The election year aspect of this. It really is too convenient of timing if you think about it. The real question is who are calling the shots here: BLM or puppet’s staff at the WH...
A federal government is clearly too big when a “land management” agency can afford to have its own sniper team. A government has more money than it needs to conduct its core functions is a government that will busy itself with finding more things to control and ways to extend its power. This is the Iron Law of bureaucracy.
A government that can create its own money does not have to ask taxpayers for permission to spend more to feed its self-serving bureaucratic activities. When states start calling for a Convention to consider amendments to the Constitution, the first topic must be to restrain federal spending. A government that must live within its means is a government that must focus on the important things rather than imposing evermore intrusive laws and regulations having the weight of law.
Every day more people are coming to the judgment that a carefully organized effort to repair the constitution via the States’ power to propose and ratify amendments has less risk to our liberty and prosperity than the present trajectory of the federal government and especially the federal bureaucracy.
“Civilian operated drones would also be useful in the area to document what the fedgov is doing.”
You can BET that any pilot daring to violate this zone will lose their ticket.
However, if you use a drone, make SURE it has a sticker on it, or a sign with a POLITCAL Statement on it.
ALL political speech is protected speech. If the Feds shoot it down, someone will make some money on the 1st Amendment lawsuit, at least.
Many large cattle outfits already use drones to monitor their herds. I hope there are rancher owned drones up and recording what is happening
FNC is covering this now. Bob Massi is reporting a history of Fed land in NV and the ranches there. With 82% of NV land managed by the Feds where else are they to graze their cattle he points out.
Topped off my magazines and repacked my gear. May be taking a road trip to Nevada...
Sayin’ prayers left and right Jim, but it looks like Jehovah may want us to work this one out on our own.
a very simple solution....take the farmers to court, and if the courts deem it a legal action, then issue a court order to force the cattle off the land....but to resort to guns is outrageous.....
