It is often said that working women earn 77 cents on the dollar in the United States compared to men. President Obama said on April 8, ”Today, the average full-time working woman earns just 77 cents for every dollar a man earns…in 2014, that’s an embarrassment. It is wrong.” Troubling stuff. Obama this week announced with great fanfare an executive order banning federal contractors from retaliating against employees who discuss their wages.
The latest presidential action is like a three-foot bridge over a thousand-foot chasm, though. Nor would the Paycheck Fairness Act that is currently stalled in Congress solve the problem, given that pay discrimination on the basis of sex is already illegal. When you look at the statistics, you will realize that far broader legislation is needed to close the innumerable pay gaps in American life.

The are re-birthing the war on women mantra and will also push a higher minimum wage to "help" those that aren't the one percenters.

Women is the exact same job don’t make the same money. I have 25 years experience doing what I do. Are they trying to tell me that some person fresh off the boat should make the same amount I make? I don’t think so.

Why yes he is. Just look at Obama's immigration policies; undocumented democrats fresh off the boat (or fresh across the river) should be paid as much or more than long term American residents. In fact, if you have been here for 25 years, you have unjustly benefited from the riches of the hegemonic America before Obama remade it and therefore should be heavily taxed to redistribute your ill gotten gains to his new supporters,
