PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn will consider running for president in 2016 -- if she sees an opportunity to do so, an aide to the 7th District Republican told RealClearPolitics. Blackburn is scheduled to be one of the speakers at a New Hampshire Republican rally this weekend but was not previously known to be mulling a White House bid.
"If there's a door to kick down, she's willing to kick it down," the aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said. "These are the kinds of events you go to -- test the waters, and see what the reaction is."

Blackburn supported the deal a few years ago to give the pro-statehood-for-Puerto-Rico folks another shot at making PR a state.

Yea, she should try to get elected to the Senate where she can be a conservative vote among 100 votes, since there are over 50 liberal Democrats, and at least 30 liberal Republicans. Right. Then she can do the most good as 1 voice in 100. We need 1% more of the Senate to be conservative, that way the Senate can be 6% conservative instead of 5% conservative.
Stupid! If she is willing to stick her neck out and run for the Presidency in spite of the media excoriation she will receive, she has my vote right now. Hopefully, she has never said anything about witchcraft or astrology, and there are no naked pictures of her floating around the internet, and hopefully she has never had an affair or an abortion. If any of those things are true, then I support her for Senate instead of President. But if she is squeaky clean, I don't see why she shouldn't take a chance.
I wish "standing out" on a "national stage" were not a sufficient requirement. Our current president "stood out" on the "national stage" at the Democrat Convention in 2004, and next thing you know...

We need Marsha in the Senate, for the long haul.

It is though.
Unless a person is able to capture the attention of our population in some way, even either negative or positive, they will have no name recognition, and that is hard to overcome.
That’s why when people starting citing the names of various state governors and legislators, it’s not likely to pan out as they aren’t known outside of their state borders.
Got to do some research before I start cheerleading. I haven’t heard her connected to the democrat wing of the GOP yet.

Marsha Blackburn didn’t know what going to conference on amnesty would mean. I think she was misinformed like most of the House GOP.

Radio host Laura Ingraham asked Rep. Blackburn what should be done with all the illegal aliens living in the United States. Rep. Blackburn said, “I think there should be some sort of pathway to legalization.”
Rep. Blackburn told Ingraham, “I think the first thing we’ve got to do is pass some things out of the House.”
The big draw is Cruz, Steve King and Trump.

Rubin is not happy about Trump and Steve King being there.
“Even worse is the choice of Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who was repudiated by his own party last summer for egregious remarks about Hispanics. Why on earth — at a time when the GOP is fighting to escape the stereotype of intolerance — would any GOP group invite him? It’s hard to fathom.”
King’s office released a statement to the Journal, with the congressman criticizing Boehner for “hateful” comments.
“There can be honest disagreements about policy without using hateful language. Everyone needs to remember that,” King said. “I want to be clear. There’s no place in this debate for hateful or ignorant comments from elected officials. What he said does not reflect the values of the American people or the Republican Party, and we all need to do our work in a constructive, open and respectful way.”
The thing is Steve King could spoil a few states in a presidential primary. I don’t see Blackburn doing that. Karl Rove and Boehner have been forced to tone down the pro amensty rhetoric. King is also supportive of Cruz, Huckabee and Christie.
She’s a Mississippi girl; grew up in my neck of the woods. She’s a solid conservative, strong Christian and smart cookie.

I really like her, but she’s not TEA. I guess her epiquet is ‘pramgatic’. As in likely look for her in photos with Jeb.
