You're right, but in all fairness there are some of us who chose to be childless, not necessarily out of selfishness or wanting to hook up with a different guy every night. I've never had children because I don't have the right stuff to be a good parent. In my distressed neighborhood, I've seen the results of women having children they don't want or are unprepared to raise. Of course, some of them aren't good dog owners either, but that's a whole ‘nuther issue.
My point is, don't paint everyone who would rather not have children with the same broad brush. I'm proud and supportive of those who do have children, but it's not right to condemn those who for whatever reason can't or won't have children.
Of course, you are correct, and I think most people would agree with you here. The posted article was speaking in broad terms. I was responding in broad terms.
As you correctly point out, there will always be folks who either cannot have children, or who choose not to have children for specific reasons. Again, I was simply trying to point out the neo-cultural values of placing self above all else versus individual circumstances.
