I lost track of the number of times someone behind the wheel was killed because they were “driving right at the officers”. Now I guess they’ve dropped the car requirement.
Obviously the victims' fault. They should have know better than run from the guy trying to kill them to the police (who actually were successful in killing one of them.)
When they tell lies like this, that’s what bothers me most about these incidents. I understand that mistakes can happen in violent and chaotic situations, but this kind of reflexive lying casts doubt on the veracity of police statements in general.
Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Run toward the police, get shot for aggression.
Run the opposite direction, get shot for fleeing from the police.
