Lynn-dah got a glob of something growing on her forehead, right between the eyes. Since both my Mom and her brother battled skin cancer all their lives, I recognized it as something that needed attention.
My Vet was having a “dental special” last month, so I said “While she’s under the anesthesia, can you snip that thingy off and biopsy it?”
It turned out to be much deeper than it appeared , and in order to have “clean surgical margins”, they had to take quite a bit and have two layers of stitches.
It cost big bucks, and of course, she won’t be getting plastic surgery for the scar. (Mommy can’t even afford THAT for herself!)
So until Lynn-Dah’s Chow-Chow heritage takes over and grows back her luxuriant fur, she will look like Charles Manson for a while. (sigh!)
My Uncle Bill served on a PT Boat in the South Pacific, and the boys often went shirtless in the tropical South Pacific Sunshine. He battled these things all his life, but lived to be 90!
So Lynn-Dah has many years ahead of her, but it is still very nerve-wracking waiting fort the biopsy.
Oh, wow. Prayers up for Lynn-dah.
Thank you so much for the update. I’m happy she is doing well and hope she heals completely so she doesn’t have to live with the Manson look...brrrr...yuck.
I hope the biopsy comes back good ML. I had to have that done on my Yorkie’s ‘chest’ a few years ago. Thankfully it wasn’t anything bad. Always something more to worry about, isn’t there?!!
