Hank Aaron, who was celebrated Tuesday night in Atlanta on the 40th anniversary of breaking Babe Ruth's all-time home run record, compared Obama critics to the KKK as he opened up about the state of race relations in an interview with USA Today. The Braves legend, who told the newspaper he still has the bigoted letters and death threats he received during his pursuit of one of baseball's most cherished records, said that little has changed despite the decades that have passed. "The biggest difference is that back then they had hoods," Aaron said. "Now they have neckties and starched shirts."

Maybe if Hank had some knowledge he would have known the undisputable fact that the KKK is nearly all Democrats.
History and facts sux sometimes.

Two reasons not to care about what Hank thinks (and there are more than two)
1. Hitting a ball over a fence doesn’t make you an expert on anything other than hitting a ball over a fence.
2. Babe Ruth is the true HR king. He actually had MANY more home runs than the number recorded. The reason why is that HRs were hardly even being accounted for until he started to become a phenomenon for hitting them. I’ve read that his actual number of homers was probably over 800. So Babe is still the man, and he always will be. Just saying...
There is no comparison between Aaron & Ruth. Aaron had 12364 at bats hitting 755 hr’s, while
Ruth had 8399 at bats hitting 714 hr. Of course Aaron’s comparison of the GOP with the KKK is off the charts. Poor Hank is probably suffering dementia in not recognized that the RATS WERE the KKK.
Just finished a 600 page book in the history of South Catolina. I cannot imagine why a black would vote for a Democrat. These people are ignorant, and particularly ignorant of their heritage that they continue throwing In our faces.
Obama has single handedly set race-relations back 200 years!
Wealthy black man says white people are keeping him from being wealthy
I’m not sure what your point is? My point is that either Hank is a racist or he doesn’t really know a thing about politics and what the liberals are doing to him and his people.
You say this as though speaking the truth is a bad thing. If I were you I would reconsider my own thoughts on the matter and try to understand why I think that way. Oh, and nice with the Colin Powell reference. You couldn’t think of Mia Love or any other black conservative? Only one who has fallen out of disfavor with conservatives because he is not a conservative? A rather pathetic attempt overall.
Simply not true that Ruth had major league home runs that were not accounted for and had over 800. Completely false
Hank, stick to baseball. Politics is not your strong suit.
I think baseball is like Nazi Germany - they have a leader and players... and they like to win. Yep, that’s credible...
Hank Aaron is listed on the Braves website as a senior vp. Feel free to call the Braves 404-522-7630 and ask if this is what ownership and the organization believes. I did and left a number. Havent heard back.
Ownership used to be Ted Turner. Its CEO is now Terry McGuirk.
The comments at the original article make me sad for America.
This country is hopelessly divided.
Have you stopped beating your wife? That’s the rhetorical equivalent of the racism accusation in today’s political landscape.
The Left can keep Republicans tied up in knots with the accusation, and have done so for a couple of decades. 20 years ago the retort was Colin Powell, and it didn’t matter. 10 years ago it was J.C. Watts, and it didn’t matter. The RNC selected a black man to run it, and it didn’t matter. Now it’s Mia Love, and it doesn’t matter. The Left makes the accusation, and responding to it simply validates it.
Yes, yes, MLK was a Republican, so was Jackie Robinson, Lincoln freed the slaves, the Civil Rights Act needed the GOP to pass; Robert Byrd was an actual Klansman, Joe Biden says racially insensitive things all the time, Hillary Clinton ain’t noways tard. I’ve been hearing the same defenses to the same charge my entire life. It has had ZERO impact. None. The charge is still made, and blacks still vote Democrat at a rate of about 95%. There’s not much point in spending a lot of energy on it. Hank Aaron is a stupid person who should be ignored right after he is correctly called an idiot.
Maybe if you explain your support of Mia Love or Ben Carson to them one more time they will stop calling you a racist. Yeah, get back to me on how that works out for you.
“If I were you I would reconsider my own thoughts on the matter and try to understand why I think that way.”
To sum it up, I think this way because of my observations of the same defenses to the same charge over the course of many years. Republicans spend a great deal of time defending themselves, they gain nothing in the defense, and the Left gains the activation of its base by making the accusation. A better way to handle it would be to expose the tactic for what it is: a distraction. There, was the the deep introspection you were recommending for me, or were you going for something else?
They got to circle the wagons, the shite is beginning to hit the fan and before long the reparations and nobamaphones dry up. Fight creepyass crackas toda lass MoFo be dait!
Nobody ever said he was a genius.

Very good. Now I understand from where you are coming and agree with you.
