Representative John Becker of Ohio has called to impeach a federal judge due to his recent rulings involving gay marriage. Becker says that U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Black has abused his power and went against the state and federal constitution through his pro-gay decisions.
Beckers office released a statement writing, In an epic display of arrogance and incompetence, Judge Black announced that he will require the people of Ohio to disregard the Ohio Constitution and force the recognition of homosexual marriages performed outside of Ohio. He persists in allowing his personal political bias to supersede jurisprudence.
In December the judge ruled that state officials must recognize same-sex marriages on death certificates. Black has announced that his next move is to remove Ohios gay marriage ban, though the ban was approved by the majority of voters in 2004 reports Christian News.
Representative Becker believes Blacks actions are just cause for dismissal and has proposed a resolution of his impeachment. The resolution has not had received a hearing.
The resolution reads in part, ...the impeachment of rogue federal judges will begin the process of restoring state sovereignty to the original intent of the United States Constitution
Black was appointed to the post by President Barack Obama.
It would be nice to see this go through to completion, but I am not holding my breath.
If Becker could get the rest of the Ohio House and Senate to approve a “sense of the Ohio Legislature” to the US House delegation in Congress, the Ohio Congressman John Boehner would have just cause to begin looking into the impeachment process on this judge.
It would be unseemly for Boehner to ignore his own state legislature.
I am not aware of the makeup of the rest of the Ohio House and Senate. Do you think there is a possibility they could rise to the occasion that has been presented in front of them?
We have a majority of Republicans in both the House and Senate here in OH, as well as a Republican Governor. (a part-time RINO), but a Republican nonetheless. It just seems so odd that Ohio went blue the last 2 elections. I claim voter fraud as the reason.
Just like zero and holder disregards their oath to faithfully execute the laws. It’s easy if you have no soul. This is just as evil and destructive as the communists, nazis and mohammadens, just kinder, gentler. The end is the same.
We have a republican house, senate, governor, secty of state, atty general, and supreme court.
If they wanted to get behind this they could easily do it.
“...It would be unseemly for Boehner to ignore his own state legislature....”
Boehner has not shown any inclination to worry about what is or isn’t unseemly, sir...
He’s a sock puppet.
Nancy Pelosi, as the Speaker, PUSHED her party agenda at every opportunity and didn’t back down. She helped shove Obamacare down our throats.
Boehner - our “Pagliacci” crying clown - has done nothing but help the other side.
I don’t see him growing ANYTHING like a pair of stones in the near future.
I wish to see return to sodomy laws, in which sexual contact between men or women is a serious felony.
Rep. John Becker is taking the action that most Americans have been demanding every since Activists Judges have been ruling against the people and for the gay marriage advocates.
Once Becker introduces the Articles of Impeachment, the American people will support him en masse and demand that all other judges that have ruled against out American also be impeached.
