"Today is a win for transparency in government and the taxpayers of Wisconsin. The Court of Appeals has agreed with the MacIver Institute that Sen. Erpenbach cannot carve out a special exemption to the open records law for whomever he chooses or try to hide public information when he works for Wisconsin taxpayers," Brett Healy, President of the MacIver Institute said. "Government employees and their unions should not be given a cloak of anonymity to hide their attempts to influence the legislative process. Today's decision requires them to play by the same rules as everyone else."
The Court of Appeals also directed the Circuit Court to order the release of all requested documents without redaction.

The MacIver Institute filed an Open Records Request (ORR) with Sen. Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton, WI) three years ago requesting all emails he had received relating to Act 10's changes to collective bargaining. Erpenbach provided the requested emails, but not before redacting all of the senders' contact information, including the names and email addresses of public employees.
Based on a review of the emails, the MacIver Institute concluded that there was a concerted effort on behalf of government employees to actively use public resources to campaign against Wisconsin's collective bargaining reforms known as Act 10.
When asked for the requested emails without redacted contact information, the Senator's office refused.
Have the Sergeant at Arms remove Erpenbach’s sorry @ss from OUR Senate, along with his STAFF and frog-march them to the Dane County Jail...which overlooks the lake; a BEAUTIFUL view for anyone ‘sheltering’ there. *SMIRK*
A GLIMMER of SANITY! The Milwaukee DA spent FOUR YEARS going over 23,000 pages of e-mails by Governor Walker and his staff, looking for...something...anything...to ‘charge’ them with...for being Conservatives, LOL!
The ‘Rats in our state were handed their @sses today!! *BIG SMILE* Wa-Hoooo!
PING!
I will be absolutely shocked if the non-redacted e-mails are not lost due to a “computer glitch.”
He’s smart enough to recover them:

We got a crappy minimum wage bill and gay mafia school 'anti-bullying' bill today in Minnesota and a $70+ million un-needed senate office bldg for 17 senators.yay.
Move just a little bit East! :)
I’ve lived here for 53 years (on and off - a few other states and countries during my Army Days) and this is the FIRST time since the Tommy Thompson years that I’ve felt even the LEAST little bit HOPEFUL that Wisconsin can recover from the Socialists that have tried to suck the life blood from Her!
Seriously. Come join us! Land. Cheese. Jobs. Lutefisk. :)
Not a single pretty girl in that entire title sequence! Who did they expect their audience to consist of?
There’s so many Wisconsin, Iowa and Dakota license plates in the Twin Cities, even people go there from Nebraska and Ohio. I guess there are jobs there. Still, positives in Wisconsin. Potentially, I hope a number of the Polis in St. Paul and that one former comedian are tossed out on their ears that fall. Rural Minnesota can be relatively conservative. House and Senate could potentially be shook up pretty good, I wouldn’t feel good if I were a Democrat.
Governor Walker on Twitter. https://twitter.com/govwalker
Never forget, Governor Walker and a number of other Republicans went through a lot for the good that is being done there. So, I support him about every chance I can.
I understand that Al Franken is a tad shaken this cycle!
That’s A Good Thing!
Good on y’all!!!!
Wasn’t Erpanbach one of the “Fleebaggers” who whined to his parents for help paying his hotel bill when the Dems all ran away to Rockford, IL to avoid voting on Scott Walker’s reforms?
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Adding GREEN! Plenty of water to go around -- grow crops, swim, boat; hunt; hike; ski; just relax and LOOK, etc.
Lutefisk!
Isn’t that torture?
Awesome!!
