Trust there is a “Lois Lerner” at the NSA with access to all that data. The Senate is at stake, Obama’s a lame duck (what’s to lose) and impeachment is a real possibility (you pick the scandal) => why not pull out all the stops.
And... You’ll notice the Democrats are cleaning out their backyard now, busting any and Dems now still well ahead of the election. Three Dems in the last couple weeks.

Ok, now we know why Lerner took the 5th and why Cummings is trying so hard to bury the investigation. The big question now is how the mainstream media will spin this against the Republicans. I’m betting on a combined “war on women” (Lerner) and “racist” (Cummings) approach.

That kind of thinking is why Romney lost to Obama in 2012.
