I missed the earlier call, but am not surprised. Most people are completely ignorant regarding the true COST that leads to a price. The $8K cost that leads to a $33K bill could very well be a fair price. Once all of their massive overhead is taken into consideration, then it could lead to a 4x mark up.
The caller he is referencing should be happy that a hip surgery is AVAILABLE at any price. Let her cap the price and see how it works out.....
