Madison A federal judge kept alive a lawsuit Tuesday attempting to throw out a long-running secret investigation of fundraising and spending by conservative groups during Wisconsin's recent recall elections.
Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and others have been looking into whether the Wisconsin Club for Growth or others illegally coordinated with any candidates during the recalls. They can’t stop the witch hunt (#2) until after the Nov election. Walker is up for re-election and they need the specter of “maybe” something wasn’t right about the way he did some unspecified thing some time in the past.

Milwaukee has a long history of really bad DAs. Unfortunately we never get anyone decent running. Actually, I can’t think of the last time the office was opposed. The current corrupt clown was the previous corrupt clown’s assistant.
When the office is up for election I normally write in Barney the purple dino. He wouldn’t be any harder on criminals but would at least irritate them. And maybe he wouldn’t be so partisan; I can’t see how he could be worse.
I’m sure you’re right.
