John Kerry Defends His Diplomatic Efforts: I May Fail I Dont Care
By Ali Weinberg Apr 8, 2014 4:03pm
Appearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State John Kerry defiantly defended his diplomatic efforts, saying that while ambitious, they were better than doing nothing.
While the purpose of Tuesdays hearing was to pick through the State Departments budget, it was Kerrys record that came under scrutiny as his old colleagues on the committee accused him of taking on too many responsibilities with too few results.
I think youre about to hit the trifecta, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told Kerry, naming three of the most complicated issues Kerry took on: the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Iranian nuclear program and the Middle East peace talks.
Kerry said McCain gave a premature judgment about the failure of everything, and noted, on Middle East talks, that the Israelis and Palestinians were still at the negotiating table.
Its stopped. It is stopped. Recognize reality, McCain curtly told his former colleague.
Kerry invited McCain and other critics to lay blame at his feet.
Sure, we may fail. And you want to dump it on me? I may fail. I dont care. Its worth doing. Its worth the effort, he said.
Earlier in the hearing, Kerry rejected a claim by Sen. Jim Risch that American foreign policy was spinning out of control and listed some of what he said were clear successes around the world.

How bout he puts his old money on the line and then we’ll see if he cares?
He made a major contribution to the Communist conquest of VietNam — he may figure he’ll never top that achievement.
I have found that I prefer mustard to Ketchup on my hot dogs.
He failed in a manner reminiscent of Jhinjis Khawn.
Of course he doesn’t care...failure is his life. How are those rice burns that you got the Purple Heart for John?
This is an essential part of liberal thinking.
Fly the plane into the side of a mountain before admit your ideology has led you into disaster. The innocents who suffer as a result are a detail.
The words of a timid man who deep down inside knows he lacks the leadership qualities and professional abilities to carry out his duties and who is uncomfortable in his own skin.
I'm convinced he was appointed to this position by our infirmative-action president in order to make Mrs. Clinton's failures seem less serious by comparison.
yeah he must be used to it
“It doesn't matter that I failed, only that I tried!” waaaaa
I certainly hope that John Kerry fails in ALL his misguided missions. He’s being as unproductive as Hillary was but at least Hillary took a “compliant” woman with her on all her travels so her time was not (to her) a total waste.
This is a man who obviously has no qualifications to be Secretary of State.
Unfortunately, if that’s obvious to a dummy like me, it’s also obvious to the every Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary of every other nation on earth. Those people tend to be rather bright and know their jobs, having been career foreign service types.
You know they laugh everytime horse face opens his mouth.
Maybe it was a misquote, that happens all the time. I bet the accurate quote was “I Fail - Because I Don’t Care!” Oh yeah and because he’s a Moron!
Praise the Lawd and pass the Betty Boop band-aids !!
I wonder if they visitted the grave of the unarmed teenage boy that he shot in the back as he was running away?
John Kerry.
What can I say?
I am ashamed of you.
You are a traitor.
You are a disgrace.
I hate you.
I hate the people who appointed you.
I hope I live long enough to piss on your grave.
